Very cool Tank collection! RIP Algy. "This Means War" is my favourite at the moment but all of the old records are very good. We played with Tank at a festival a couple of years ago and Cliff Evans was standing side of the stage drinking beer and watching our show....

Cheers for this video my friend Tank is one of my Top 5 favorite bands of all time also cheers for shouting out all Algy Ward was involved in and being a Punker myself I am also a fan of The Damned whom I seen live yrs back on their 40th Anniversary of Damned Damned Damned their debut album and The Saints too whom I think are criminally underrated one of the first Australian Punk Rock bands. My favorite albums by far are Filth Hound Of Hades witch is also my Backpatch for my Leather Bomber Jacket for a reason flawless album from start to finish and Power Of The Hunter to me Algy and the Brabbs Brothers were the perfect Power Trio and genuine lineup they were the Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke, Phil Animal Taylor or Mantas, Cronos, Abaddon to what Tank is. His iteration of Tank after the OG lineup is the only one I support loved Sturmpanzer(witch my Brother got for me as a birthday gift when it came out around the time of my birthday 2018) and Breath Of The Pit. Also as a Producer he also produced the classic Bulldozer- The Day Of Wrath along with Warfare- Pure Filth and also shoutout to Warfare. I LOVED the Evo/Algy recordings those 2 were like Brothers even with Evo having a Oi Punk background with Angelic Upstarts and The Blood prior to forming Warfare. My philosophy is Motörhead, Tank, Warfare and Venom are the Four Horsemen of Metal/Punk style that would influence 10s of 1000s great bands pioneering this iconic sound me and countless others were inspired by. Upon hearing the passing of Algy I was devastated as his voice and pounding Bass was a major part of my life and I desired to meet him even if it was not during a live performance due to his health truly an underrated Musical Innovating Genius that I will miss. I been jamming these past few weeks to my Tank Kollection. REST IN POWER ALGY WARD your music lives in me and will continue to be a part of my life moving forward and never forgotten!!

Cool to know that you like TANK so much. Didnt know he also produced DAY OF WRATH by BULLDOZER, i have that album but never checked that out. Thanks for the info. I just bought STURMPANZER from Emp, digipack. I like it too and dont know why i didnt buy it before. Totaly agree about those FOUR HORSEMEN OF METAL/PUNK STYLE, super the way you said it. They influenced bands like ATOMKRAFT, BATHORY or BULLDOZER not long after. Great Great. Thanks for your message. Cool you are such a big fan of Algy Ward. RIP.

hi... saw them in paris... it was 1984 during honour and blood tour they opened for a very well known band but i can't remember who it was ....i remember it because at the end of the show the drummer fell apart in his drum kit trying to jump and stand up in his drum chair to salute the crowd unfortunatly he missed it algie ward was surprised to hear a strange noise behind him and of course was laughing out loud ... however i was impressed by their prestation but too short may be ...;-))

Way back when, I bought Honor and Blood. For the artwork. Lol. Awesome painting. It was like the Rogue Male First Visit album. Loud. Unusual vocals. Unique songs. There was that punk rock / metal exciting fine line element. Punk rock on cocaine. Plasmatics come to mind. But TANK……they weren’t fooling around. All out loud.

Yessss, you describe the sound and attitude better then me. Amazing band. The art work on Honor and Blood is amazing. I bought the Atom God lp for its arwork-didnt even know that Algy was on it when it was released. I never really got into the songs but the artwork is still amazing. Thankssss.

Incredible Tank collection and awesome tribute to Algy, Rene. I saw that tribute by Jon as well as his stream dedication. That Filth Hounds of Hades was my introduction to Tank and I had it on Cassette back then. They were very obscure where I grew up (very small village in P.E.I. Canada) and Blood Guts & Beer was like an anthem for myself and my headbanger buds...though at only 14-15yrs old it shouldn't have been, if you know what I mean...driinking an smokin and carrying on. lol! But that is what we were then, so we reallly related. What can we say? Love this man! Good stuff Rene! R.I.P. Algy Ward. 🤘🤘🍻

Tank was an awesome band. I like the rough and raw quality of the earlier albums. Warfare is a great band too. They also influenced a lot of the thrash metal bands that came later like Raven and Venom.
@holspa
@holspa Жыл бұрын
Yes, very good that rough and raw sound of the early TANK stuff, really cool. RAVEN and VENOM started before WARFARE releasing stuff, but yes, they are all from the same scene. Same with AVENGER from the UK, also a very cool raw sounding heavy metal band.

This is a good homage/tribute video. I recently picked up a Spanish pressing of the 7" single 'He Fell In Love With A Stormtrooper'. I also noticed the drawing in the upper left corner. My compliments to the artist.

Hello Rene, very good video as always. I bought a record from Warfare back in the day because it was produced by Cronos and I am a fanatic of Venom. My favorite of Tank is filthy hounds. Baron Rojo was the supporting band of them in their English tour and I think they became great friends. Rest in peace Algy. Regards \m/

Thanksss. Happy you liked the video. That is a good Warfare album too, from 86. On the one i showed you have a duet with Cronos on one song but for shore you know that. Also a album was produced by Lemmy, Metal Anarchy. This guys all knew each other. Cool about the Baron Rojo conection. I think TANK played with them on the first Pabellón de los Deportes de Madrid show of Baron Rojo. Could be around the same time. Maybe first the tour in the Uk or first the show in Spain. Very nice. Thanksssss
