Alhambra 4P vs Alhambra 5P

Beautiful. I own a 1985 3C from when I learned to play. Bought it from a neighbour because it sounded much better than others. Played and studied on it until I was 19. Neglected it for a while, now came back to it. Still sounds great. I heard a new 9P contrasted with a new 3C last week in JnR Hasselt. I was blown away by the definition and clarity of the 9P. Doing a bit of research on the other P guitars now. Would like to get one. Thx for sharing!

it seems, the 4p is stronger in the mids/has more "core" in the basses an trebles, and the 5p has a more round bass and slightly sweeter trebles. What to prefer, is a matter of taste.

Trying Alhambra guitars and comparing them with other expensive reputable makers, reading reviews and listening to other experts in the field, I have well understood that Alhambra make a very resonant and vibrant instrument. Thet have gained a reputation as in the 4P for producing a high quality professional grade model, as is many of their variations.

I agree! I have tried so many expensive guitars that were under the Alhambras..

Tomorror I'll get the Alhambra 5p. Must say, it sounds amazing live. I will lower the action and make as usual a sound port, that will make her sound like a 8k guitar :) Really I was testing so much and I have to say that the Alhambras have definetely a very satisfying sound, that's the best way to describe it.

They're both 9f beautiful sound. Not sure i could throw the extra money in for what difference there is... the 4p seems to reverb a bit more (or is that just my brain playing tricks on me?)

I play on Alhambra 4P. It is a wonderful guitar, but I had to lower the action. Before that, it was difficult to play.

@احمد صباح حسن I filed the bridge. It is not buzzing, but you must be careful not to overdo.

@احمد صباح حسن If you shorten the bridge too much, you can always buy another one in a shop. After lowering the action, It is usually easier to tune the guitar.

@احمد صباح حسن At first I also was sacred, but It was worth It. I was advised to use a credit card to keep the proper gap. The action is good if the card put between the strings and the board on the first position is neither loose nor tight.

i think the 5p has more bass but the 4p is a bit louder, i kinda like the 4p more

yes but only if you choose between the two models after playing them ( sometimes you can find a 4P more interesting than a 5P..=

Not to knock Alhambra, but I bought a Cordoba C7 and I'm still not sure I'm totally happy with it. Neither of these guitars sound as good as the Cordoba though in my opinion, and they're all priced similarly. I'll probably end up paying quite a bit more for a higher-end instrument when I finally decide to move up.

American loyalty I guess. I love Alhambras. They sound lovely and have the culture and heritage of Spanish manufacture not a US outfit making stuff in China. Horses for courses.

Nooo the c7 is nothing like the 4P. I tried birth of them out, the c7 is. Bit full in my opinion. Ps o own a Córdoba myself lol

I tried both C7 and p4 at the same time, I thought the Alhambra sounded better
