I recently read a book titled- “monopolies and death of competition”. It showed how common antitrust regulations were in early 20th century in the US. So I came to realise antitrust is not a trait of dictatorship, but that of capitalism itself. In the US, due to low antitrust cases in the recent decades, people have forgotten what Roosevelt did for the common good of Americans. What Chinese govt. did was similar to that but on a smaller scale. Correct me if I am wrong.

Mostly agree. In the US, antitrust cases have occurred to most big tech companies and were larger fines than that of Alibaba. So I agree with all but the 'low antitrust cases' point.

Then it would mean, that the current state of the union with a low number of antitrust cases is.....dictatorship? monarchy? elitarism? ....or what was this model of Germany after 1933, I can't remember.....and look at that, they also invaded Ukraine in order to seize it from its motherland of Russia.....and warmongering all over the world....and spoke about exceptionalism and end of history in a similar manner - coincidence?!

@@BarsonlineOrg2013 "and look at that, they also invaded Ukraine in order to seize it from its motherland of Russia" Oh come on now. US, France, and NATO did not invade Russian Ukraine, resulting in mass exodus from the nation and hundreds of thousands of dead. You can argue that Maidan was a coup, and I would rebuttal that if it was it was a popular one. In any case, Russia substantially escalated the conflict. From a war with 14k dead in 8 years to a war with dozens of times that in two.

I think the thesis for BABA right now is 2 simple questions: 1) Will CRM grow around 7% cagr with the new strategies they are implementing? 2) Are we going to see big growth in cloud again? I mean more than 20%. And to be honest, cloud is more important as it could be the catalyst for a re rating of the stock. For a big growth in price we need PE to double

I think JD is the better company of the 3 major eCommerce companies (JD, BABA, and PDD) in China. I could see JD eventually achieving the largest market share over the other two because of customer trust in the authenticity of their products and the speed and reliability of their logistics delivery service.

This kind of comment is how one knows it’s a safe investment. People are negative not because they know a thing about the actual company, but merely because the share price has been in a downtrend.
