Popping the track off and putting it back on my mini excavator.
I am not a professional mechanic this is not proper procedure for reinstalling your rubber track on your excavator, this is just how I do it.

Notice how the tracks always seem to come off in the worst possible place, like muddy uneven ground. Because my place is very rocky I do lose a track from time to time when turning on the rocks. Normally I let off the track adjuster like you did but occasionally get lucky and just drive it back on by screwing around at the right place.

Rubber tracks are like rubber bands but larger. Why you couldn't tension the track further is because you reached the end of the adjuster travel. You may have to remove the adjuster and see if you can lengthen it to get your track tighter. Rocks are your biggest enemy with these. Good luck out there.

Hi. Just found your channel. Do you have a video explaining how you purchased this from ALIBABA. I live in NOVA SCOTIA and too would like to know more about the process, import fees etc. Thanks. David.

I know since i bought mine total cost for this unit is less now. I saw a guy who just bought a 2.5 ton unit for the same price i paid for my 2 ton. Same manufacturer. Here's a vid of mine with a bit more info on my process. It's not hard and LTMG helps you quite a bit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHKadJ-hiM2mnrMsi=wNYOZLo6IWDZJ_x5

I'm surprised that you have had the track come off so many times, especially with so few hours. On name brand excavators, there is a spec for track tension. Hopefully your manual has some information on this. Tracks will come off, but I suspect that the tension is not correct. I agree that it might be tensioned to tight.

I have put on tons of machine tracks and I honestly think u actually over tightened it you should have kept it like it was at first instead of adding more grease and I think it kinda proves it because grease was blowing past the seals. I’ve learned that overtightening tracks will make them pop off much much more verses leaving them slightly loose just not to loose. Over-tightening will cause premature wear on your final drive bearings, bend the track frames, and if a rock or stick gets caught in between the final drive and the track it can cause issues like I just explained because it won’t “give” from being to tight.

That's why I wrote I'm not a authorized mechanic don't do what I do lol. The tracks were loose when it popped off. They've never popped off when they are tight. I should switch to steel for my property.

@@doylemaintenance good deal brother you really should be fine sometimes on camera it’s hard to tell but I think your good hopefully they don’t pop off again if they do keep popping off you may have a alignment issue, I’ve heard a lot of these Chinese minis having similar issues. Take care my friend

@@TheHomePros6221 I caught the track coming off again today on the other side but I stopped it in time. Seems it gets out of track on the lower middle rail and pushes out and when you keep driving forward or backwards it comes across the front or rear sprocket then goes past the point of no return. This time I stopped the machine before it happened lifted up the blade. Then spun the cab around and lifted up the back with the boom pushing on the ground to get the track off the ground. I then drove the track one full circle and it popped back in place. Seems if you hear a pop snap sound do this procedure and better chance of not falling off completely. Ilk make a vid next time it happens.

@@doylemaintenance When on muddy/rocky ground and making turns, it's often better to raise the machine with the bucket and spin using the turntable and track at same time. Once you are proficient, you are much less likely to have tracks falling off. It's a good skill to learn as you sometimes get in situations where it's the only way to move.

@@ArthurDentZaphodBeeb yes I so see the benefit from this. I will try and do it more.

Those track when they are new are going to stretch/break-in. You should keep it taught but not tight. It should have about a 1/2 in play on the top meaning you should be able to move it that far with your hand without trying to hard. And pay attention to it and keep it adjusted as this. If you over tighten it when it stretches, it going to stretch more that it would naturally, and you will wear the track out before it's time. Look up how to maintain new tracks. I hope this helps. I believe I even saw the groundhog mini excavator guy talk about this. Can't remember if it was him but I think it was. Good luck with your machine. I hope it lives a good long life for ya

How's your ltmg holding up, besides your track falling off?

Don't raise the tracks so high off the ground (about an inch clearance is all that's needed), otherwise you fight the weight of the track when trying to align the track. Some grease fittings have a slot in the threads so you only need to loosen the fitting a few threads to let the grease out. If your's doesn't, can use a grinder to cut a slot. That way, don't need to remove/replace the grease fitting (and avoid getting grime on it or losing it). Although I don't have space for a toolbox, I keep a selection of various sockets/wrenches on the machine in a roll-up canvas pouch under the seat - that way, no need to search for/go get tools when stuff happens (always seems biggest delays is getting the tools - either back on your truck/in the garage)
