Alibaba’s Jack Ma’s lessons for African entrepreneurs

He is one of the biggest names in world business and he came to Africa to give a masterclass on becoming an entrepreneur. Jack Ma entrepreneur extrodinaire worth more than $42 billion dollars and listed by Forbes as one of the most influential business people in the world. He was rejected for 30 jobs before coming into his own and founding Alibaba the Chinese based e-commerce giant Alibaba - he was in Johannesburg to tell entrepreneurs his story.

We need to be careful as Africans not to give up our land and natural resources for others to benefit on and in return charge us beyond our means to live on it!!! We need to be the ones creating and leading the wealth we already have by owning land and businesses to position ourselves at the forefront of progress and sustainability for generations to come! Ethiopia was much stronger economically prior to 2012 but now due to foreign businesses taking over, we are actually doing much worse economically. The currency has inflated drastically because foreign investors are building and buying at extremely cheap prices and then driving the prices up to a point where people can't afford the living cost. So understand they are not there for your progress but for their own benefits and wealth!
