There's something about gospel folks singing secular music that takes away from their voice in my opinion. His voice is so great, but I guess the message of a secular song doesn't do the vocals justice if that makes sense. It's like say Fantasia, when she does secular music, it doesn't resonate with her aesthetics are in gospel rooted music...her whole background is rooted in the church. Alic's voice is gospel and soulful but rooted in the church...and not to say they can't sing any other type of music, but their voices fair better with gospel...
