This one is my favorite! If its possible to record more classical books that are part of the public dominiun as sleep stories, it would be cool! Im not putting any pressure, if its not possible, it is fine,😊 thank for uploading this one!

Generally they don't get enough views to make it viable to do them too often, but I do have others I want to read at some point. I have read a number of different public domain works, from Frankenstein to this...

@DanJonesHypnosis Thank you, my friend. A lot of people can't understand how a cat is a beloved family member. I'm sorry I can't listen to Alice, but I did look up Chessur's namesake, and it made me feel a little better.

Dan, I'm sorry this is not on the sleep story topic (It's so soothing, by the way). How would you perform a hypnotic induction on an adult with ADHD? I would love to have access to the benefits of hypnosis. Regular, scripted inductions don't work on me. Even 30 seconds into the induction, a thought tangent can get triggered by about any stimulus, some words the hypnotherapist is saying, for instance. I may catch the tangent and consciously bring myself back to what's happening at present. The session is already blown, however. Tangents are unconscious and can happen repeatedly. I have tried standard hypnosis at least 15 times over many decades but it doesn't really work. How would you go about achieving hypnosis given this scenario? The instant induction? Any detailed thoughts you can share may be of great help. Thanks for your response. Again, I'm sorry this isn't on topic.

I'm so happy you're asking this question! Being AuDHD myself I've been thinking about asking something similar but due to executive dysfunction I've never gotten around to do it 😂

The most important thing is for the approach to be tailored to the individual. Hypnosis is just the process of focusing attention and increasing responsiveness, what you do may also depend on what you are trying to achieve. For example, if I was doing therapy with someone for anxiety, then the eyes closed 'hypnosis' part, if someone wanted to label it that, would have me likely just asking the person to get comfortable, letting them know they can obviously move about if they need to, and to close their eyes. Then I would likely be doing eyes closed so that they can mentally rehearse, so I would probably talk about finding somewhere comfortable in mind to relax and imagine a large screen, have them watch the future rehearsal play out on the screen, then replay that, but step into the screen and experience it. All of this is very active and engaging and the expectation is the client is listening and engaging and doing what is being asked, not just passively listening and expecting something to happen. In other situations, perhaps the aim is just for the person to have a relaxing experience but their mind wanders easily or they get distracted and this is raised as something that needs addressing, then I would work with this. If I know what is right for that person, like a hobby they give absorbs their attention, then I will use this (like I did in this induction recorded live where a person in the audience said they had never had a successful experience because of having ADHD, they can't sit still, they can't focus on one thing a long time etc, they have tried the common inductions love cool body scans etc and their minds just wanders too much because the induction is slow and not engaging for them. They said they love cycling and mountain biking, so that is what I used for the induction and they found this the deepest experience they had ever had kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXS0XodumLtnodk). Other times I'll make sure to use an approach that fits their style, so it could be giving the person something to be doing, like counting out loud or counting down in three's, or just being conversational, so we are just constantly talking with each other and to the untrained eye people would probably not recognise that hypnosis is happening, or keep changing it up, so before they have time to have their mind wander I've already changed to focus on something different but related (this is also what you do with ADHD children in school), and in many cases I can start off doing this a lot and then once they are following my lead then slow down the jumping around. It is just about finding what is right for the individual and if it is prerecorded content then it is about the individual trying lots of different things and finding what works best for them to help them to remain focused on the content. Remember, hypnosis is just focusing attention and increasing responsiveness, so in many cases, if your mind wanders for a moment or you move etc, that is fine, you can still be engaging with what you are doing, like people with ADHD manage to have their attention focus enough on driving a car that even if their mind wanders from time to time they still manage to stay driving and keeping on route and safe, or still manage to watch films or read books or engage in conversations, and the strategies which work for these are likely to be what helps when doing hypnosis.

Have you tried first relaxing your body and saying each part mentally like" my face is relaxed, my neck is relaxed" go all the way to ur feet and then picture in your mind a pool of water count down from 10 to 1 stepping into the pool of water and you float in the healing waters of the pool. This is what I originally started with to start self hypnotizing then I went to picturing a long hall with a do and picturing different items in the hall and the way the walls feel and texture and go to the door and open it and walk through a fog until it clears and then you go from there to where ever you want to go. If that doesn't work my son likes Michael Seeley here on KZbin. My son has ADHD also and listening to Michael helped him a lot.

I don't often read the works of others, but when I do I always put it in the title and thumbnail for the video and state it in the audio, unless it is a compilation, like of fairy tales or someone's sorry stories, like Edgar Allan Poe where I can put every story title I'm reading in the title or thumbnail, so it will be in the description and as chapters and usually the title will state it is a collection of stories or fairy tales...

I nearly always use AI for thumbnails and have done for at least a year or more, before AI it would take a week to find all the parts for a thumbnail and often I would end up having to license parts for the thumbnail, so it would get expensive. Now with Canva having built in AI functions and other AI services it can take just a few hours to develop and work on a design for a thumbnail... so as a single individual with very limited time and budget, AI is so helpful for creating things like thumbnails...

Creepy? It is just me reading a novel. I may read the others, but most of what I create and post on my channel are original sleep stories, not me reading the works of others, and unfortunately most people nowadays seem to want rain in the background of sleep story videos as if you are resting in bed on a rainy evening, drifting asleep to someone telling you a story. Over on Patreon I always share the voice-only versions for those few who prefer that...
