Fun Fact: In 1933 Walt Disney actually planned to make animated live action hybrid film of Alice in Wonderland starring Mary Pickford, but the idea was scrapped when Paramount produced an all live action version that same year, so instead Walt settled on making Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Also, actor Sterling Holloway was in both that 1933 adaptation and Disney's. As he played the frog footman in the 33 version and the Chesire Cat in Disney's.

There are many, and far better ones. And unlike the Burton one for Disney, Alice is actually the main character rather than the Mad Hatter.
@MaskedMan66 Жыл бұрын
@anonymouslyblessed Many reasons, but the worst is that Alice became a secondary character to the Mad Hatter, played by Tim Burton's golden boy, Johnny Bl**dy Depp.
@MaskedMan66 Жыл бұрын
@anonymouslyblessed Yeah, the animated one is much better, and more respectful to Rev. Dodgson's work. Even so, it does fall into the trap that a lot of adaptations do, by mashing up elements of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There." The thing is that the first book was a game of cards, and the second was a game of chess. Things weren't as random as people think.

4:34 - 6:24 You know, nothing against Kathryn, but I honestly wish the studio somehow had the footage of the actual cut of this scene which they kept for the original movie. Kathryn’s acting in the live action one here feels like she’s UNDERACTING, like perhaps a 5/10. The one that they went with for the film is truly a 10. Alice feels like a vulnerable child, sobbing her eyes out as she’s singing. You’d actually believe that this girl was somehow for real lost in the woods.

@osmanyousif78493 ай бұрын
This is probably why they chose to make the movie animated. Since probably they thought that nobody would buy the idea that Kathryn is a “little girl”, despite her age. With animation, you can make adjustments to how a character looks. Now to her credit, Kathryn does manage to give Alice that child-like vibe to her quite well. My only nitpick though is that I wish the studio somehow had the behind-the-scenes footage of the actual cut of “Very Good Advice” which they kept for the original movie. Kathryn’s acting in the TV special shown feels like she’s UNDERACTING, like perhaps a 5/10. The one that they went with for the film is truly a 10/10, that I think everyone would have like to know how she pulled off the scene.
