It was 1996 & I was going to Harley-Davidson repair school @ MMI in Phoenix. One Friday night I was in a blues club that was so packed I doubt a person would fall down even if they died. Standing at the bar drinking what was advertised as "the coldest beer in Phoenix," I was talking to some guy who looked familiar, & finally said to him, "are you Alice Cooper?" to which he replied, "yes I am" (or some affirmative answer anyway). At the time I did not know he was from Phoenix and that he lived in the house on the bluff overlooking the school I was attending. I seem to remember we had an interesting conversation, but also remember it was a beer drinking event and listening to good blues music.

+paladin hgwt Yeah, same time period for me. The Specdtrum in Philly. He electrocuted himself in an electric chair at the end, and of course came back for an encore. Always did that kind of stuff. Just his stage schtick. Good entertainer. In real life he is just a normal guy who is an avid golfer and just hangs out with "normal" celebs and whoever. I mean he is rich, so he just runs in those circles. Izod like shirts the whole golfing thing. Except for the long hair, just an average looking golfer. Doesn't act freaky or any of that shit. Just his stage personna, and it got over big time. I had a good time, I think.

Vinnie is a theatrical performer - an artist. Small-minded people have phobias of the arts and artists. They cannot tolerate anything new or odd. He is really quite a sensible person - nothing to be afraid of. He is a joy to watch work.
@j9andphoenix8 жыл бұрын
I always adored Alice (Vincent) and my teenage years included discovering Schools Out album and realising what a fabulous creative person he is and what a fabulous bunch of musicians he had working with him - underestimated I guess because of his persona - he is a true musician and story teller -the songs that made the public airwaves often got in the way of people discovering the true gems hidden in his body of work.

Alice Cooper is the creator of theater rock, a new genre, otherwise they call it shock rock, for me it is theater, although a little naive, but it is by no means a shock, there is nothing shocking, moreover Alice Cooper is the son of a priest, a woman she is also the daughter of a priest. It's just that his drama is that he wants to be free from dogma and canon and present himself on stage as the villain from the fairy tales, who is always subdued and beheaded, so good always wins...

Back in the early 90's I saw him headline the "Operation Rock & Roll Tour". He puts on the best live show.

"I was gone for 14 days, I might have been gone for more, held up in intensive care ward, I'm layin' on the floor, I was gone for all those days but I was not all alone, I made friends with alot of people in the danger zone. See my lonely life unfold, I see it everyday, see me lonely mind explode when I've gone insane" Alice Cooper. Love Alice. Fitting for this bat virus we are all goin' thru. I have it. It's no fun. I am gettin' better tho been 4 weeks now. Just stay safe and don't try to get out to early, this is no joke. For those of you who have it and those of you who survived it you may know what I am talkin' about. All levels of this sickness my friends. Be careful and stay home. Please. Ya never know it's next victim. Love to all you out there.

+Aberdumbie I snuck in I love the Dead into the school's radio day (Friday's the principal would play CD's over the intercom for the entire school) back in 1994. I was born in 1976 and love Alice. And yes, I have my long hair still (what's left of it anyway lol). Never stop Rockin'!

I always enjoyed seeing him in a straight jacket and how he gets out of it in strength. The best part is when he strangles the nurse with revenge. I like the way he keeps our attention. I believe, that he is the only one who has done this kind of act on stage.

This song (especially from the album with the intro of the little girl saying "Mommy where is daddy? He's been gone so long, will he ever come back home?") is the only song ever to come close to illustrating the pain I felt/feel about all the lost time with my daughter. In fact I WAS LOCKED UP FOR 14days and YES it could of been more back in 2013-2014 and MY DAUGHTER LILY was only 4 years old. I can not ever do that to a child. Especially how Lily loves me. I still don't see her how I would like... I still want her in my life all the more. I love her and YES that is my great pain... The one thing I want fixed... I miss Maddie and Skinny and Beatle too... I am a man Doomed to whatever I find to fill the gap in my heart or actually find happiness it is only to be short lived... "See my lonely life unfold, I see it everyday"
