Alicia Keys is a natural born leader. All her songs have great spiritual meaning. This song speaks to all that have molded ourselves into what others want us to be, in search of our own identity. However, our real version and true version of ourselves is only revealed by drawing close to our one and only creator. If you live by the world you will not be who you truly are. I only found love for myself when I rediscovered the true me- and that is Him in me. ❤️❤️❤️

Nice song AK. The lyrics speaks volumes of the truth (selfish people). The other scenario to this song is. To let God recreate who you are born to be. So when someone else. Comes along and worthy of thee. For all they know. Might had been waiting to have the opportunity to give and show you. How much you deserve to be love better than he never did.

I feel this song in my every bone. It describes the person I was throughout the relationship with my most recent ex from 2018. 2019 was a whole year of discovering who I was again without him. I never found that girl again. I could not remember who I was before him and when I finally remembered parts of who I was, I did not know how to be her again. I realised that I had to just build a new woman. A woman built on a stronger foundation, founded by pain, brutal lessons and loss of self but also self love in a way that I have never experienced or defined before, Kindness towards myself, trust in myself and self discovery. I am stronger, better and truly happier because I know what it is like to feel deep sadness and to not want life for myself any longer. I love better, I laugh louder, I'm kinder to myself, and I know how to cherish the air in my lungs because I know what it is like to want it taken away from me. If you're reading this and you're going through a tough time, things will get better, quite literally. I've been you and I thought that there was no better. I was wrong. The light is so much brighter on this side of the tunnel. Give yourself time, it will happen.
