I always thought of her like this as well! People ruined my image of her though, by forcing all this anti-racist crap into me. I never even realised she was black (I obviously did, but it never meant anything) and then someone told me I apparently wasn't allowed to listen to her because she's black and I'm white. I still hold her in high regard, but it ruined my flow :

Ben Karger Yeah, i once saw her a few feet away, and didn`t knew what to say....i just stumbled over my words like a kid at 12. Then later i realised she`s just a human being. So, i asked normally for a picture with autograph, and she did. She said 'of course', and my blood ran from my brain to 3 feet down under.....She looks and talks so soft. What i wrote before, 'my kind of singer'.

How am I JUST hearing this song? Ive been living and dreaming the chorus the past 8.5 months over a man I dont even know by some standards. But somehow I find myself saying daily "If I only knew he was in the world" I'd have lived differently so that nothing would have stopped me from being in this mans heart and living joyfully at his side. I just never needed anyone, I never knew what needing someone was. Lord knows I wasnt searching but here I am with a thunder bolt where my heart used to be and its strobing for him, praying he would somehow care the same as I do. I hadn't an inkling that a 2min song would have me in tears half way through and trying to write down some of the most complicated emotions I ve ever known.

This might get overlooked. But every time I hear this song I cry. I was planning to get out of town for a few months. The girl I’m seeing and I got an Airbnb as a departure token for me. She’s the most beautiful eye catching young Filipino girl. And just so randomly, I walk into the restroom as she’s putting on her make up and this song is playing she decided to sing it to me. And I looked at how precious she was and was fighting back tears because leaving her behind was going to be hard. So I turn away for a split second and when I look back. Her brand new face of makeup was smeared all over her face and she was crying still singing the chorus to me. Probably the rawest moment of my life.
