This interview is definitely where I am now in my life! I feel as though I ready to connect with me and only me! Sometimes you just give so much of yourself and I just really wonder Who could be there for me like I'm there for everybody else? And the answer is definitely nobody! Myself! I agree with Alicia on so many levels. I'm learning to give me more!!

Agreed. Thanks for your POV. I’m starting on this journey now, as I’m going through major life changes..and I’ve realised the same thing. People take and take and take, but when push to shove, when it’s the hardest yard, you have you and yourself. So yes, let’s learn to be selfish sometimes..to take care of ourselves, stop apologising and being so considerate to the point of self-harm. You can’t pour from an empty cup. So let’s fill ourselves first.

There are not enough words that can describe how much I appreciate her statements in this interview. When you're constantly pushing yourself you can easily lose a part of yourself, and become disconnected and hardened. And it's important to take time for yourself,to have that freedom to find out who you are. I'm so grateful for this :'), and this was literally what I needed to hear in this time in my life.

So many of us are in this same journey of discovering ourselves at our own paces, and it's hard, really hard sometimes, and confusing. But at the end of the day I think it's all worth it because we are lucky enough to have at least one purpose in our life, which is to connect with ourselves, learn and enjoy learning from life. Alicia will always be one of the most inspiring women to me, as an artist and as a person. Thank you Alicia, and thank you OWN.

Sonia F.R. It's quite a journey. Some decisions you make for yourself and to give yourself the peace, positivity and inspiration that you need. The concept is alien to some people. And some people can't take that you cut them off in the process of being your own person. Those people are not for you. The people who are meant for you, are the ones who understand your journey and support you on the quest of becoming who you need to be. It doesn't need to make sense to other people. You have to do what's best for you and what brings you peace. At least you know that you didn't go with the sea like a dead fish. You took a stance for yourself . You did what you had to do. You saw the outcome. You gained clarity. Your goals and mindset shifted which means that your life changed. If regressive and negative people did this, they would be a lot more pleasant and positive to be around.

Ms/Mrs. Keys I love this recollection of yours of the invincible wings and air breathing down and through our lungs and being at 19.... I had watched Ms/Mrs Gladys Knight story just before yours about a recording that was stolen when she was fairly new to the music industry... and it reminded me of a similar circumstances I had found myself in.... but entirely a different institution yet similar problem.... you are a gifted artist... can you imagine what it would be like for you if for whatever reason you weren't able to take that 21 days journey to rest and reboot? I think we would missed out on Ali...!!! you rested and we found out what you were made of and IT is complete.... a complete work. Thank you for sharing.

what these stars don't know is that they just got lost in the moment and lost in the music that they never had time to enjoy the moment. They think they lost a part of themselves which is true but the only way to find yourself was through the dance, the music, and most of all Gods voice. more work means more decision making, more steps, more climbing, more dedication. If you start with your soul in the music you should end with your soul in the music. You should never give your soul away to anyone. You are who you set to be from the beginning until you go through the making process of building the best you!

To be alone is to hear our Spirit and to reconnect with God. It is definitely needed. The reason that so many celebrities have tragic endings to their life is because they don't take time to rest and allow God to refill their cups. The whole reason that the Israelites couldn't enter into the Promised Land is because they wouldn't enter into God's rest. There is a way that seems right to man but leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). That way is to have the Martha complex, which is, work, work, work. It's like we are trying to earn our salvation, when it is actually a free gift from God and cannot be earned. Our worth has already been established through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ Hallelujah! There is nothing more to prove!

Isaiah 53:5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. For salvation, people just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in the water and of the spirit. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled with the Holy Ghost and rising again from dead works of the flesh. That's what Acts 2:38 is. Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man, be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st, John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Jesus Christ was our perfect example back to God. He was baptized and received the Holy Ghost and we must be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. He was holy and walked in righteousness and we must be holy and walk in righteousness. He died and rose again, and we must die to the things of this world and rise to walk in the newness of life. He prayed to the father showing us how to pray to the father. If you believe in this message, help spread it in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless you!

I don't have to "find" myself. I'm not lost. I know who i am. I am jesus's daughter and in loved by him. And that's my identity no matter what. I'll never understand this whole " find yourself" mantra the world follows. Why would I let anything define me other than the god who died for me,and that no matter what changes I will always be his? And I don't need to strive. To keep going. Get machine like. Burn out. Because I have JESUS. And I depend on him. And he gives me rest. And because he loves me I love others, and I put them first.
