I, along with a lot folk who work retail, am on Alan's side with how he was dealing with the stocker. His job is not only to resupply the shelves, but to also assist the customer's with what they need in the store. So him immediately telling Alan to wait while he's stocking the shelves, along with dropping what he's doing to aggressively demand an answer from Alan, is a stupid thing to do. You can tell he's having a bad day and just wants to do whatever task he has then go home, but that's not an excuse to lash out at a customer. Along with that I know for a fact that a lot of retail workers would be glad/happy to assist the customers because that means they don't have to do whatever mind-numbing/annoying task the manager's/boss is having them do since the customer's priorities will be seen as much more important in the eyes of the store/company. In other words, it's a perfect excuse for why you ain't doing what the bossman wanted you to do; and since you're going out of your way to help the customer, there's a chance that they'll put in a good word for you to your superior's, which'll give them a reason to up your pay-grade.

Allan did nothing wrong. He tried to politely ask an employee a question and got a death threat halfway through. To add to the whole retail/Target discussion: Speaking as a former Target employee (Or "team member," as they insisted on calling it), they do expect you to answer any and all customer (or "guest") question, on top of whatever job you have, which almost always is under some sort of time crunch because Amazon has utterly ruined the retail game. So this scene works because I can understand both Alan and the spider guy's perspective 😂

I agree with Alan on this one. The employee immediately came off as rude, aggressive, and combative. I've been there, where you ask one question and immediately they start throwing their attitude in your face like you're trying to upend their whole day. He didn't even give him a cursory warning, just immediately jumped into, "Back off or bad shit is about to happen." Kind of a dick move really. A lot of retail workers act similarly and that's what makes it very hard to have much sympathy for them as a whole.
