True fact: Soos was originally supposed to dress up as a big teddy bear instead of a question mark guy in his underwear. Disney executives made them change it because they thought it looked to similar to a furry costume used in what they considered fetish stuff and so in response they put Soos half naked in the costume as their own subtle of showing the inconsistent standards they have with their media.

Although in this episode I thought that Wendy was a little out of character. I could see her taking advantage of not having Stan being Stan, but I didn't think she would not want to help Mabel. Then again, teens aren't exactly known for thinking of the feelings of kids much.
@TheMaliciousGamer46546 ай бұрын
I was just having to say this since i thought if it, but also then saw another comment about it. But yeah, Soos in his idea for the mascot outfit on the paper looks like he would've been wearing his usual outfit but with the giant question mark he was wearing. So it would seem to be, that Mable was the one who for whatever reason decided that it would be better to not wear pants or a shirt. Now idk if Soos is as old as Wendy, older or younger but with how he's been shown, it definitely seems that while he does have smart & knowledgeable ideas of stuff, Soos doesn't exactly have anything else often to show what his mindset is or his maturity with 100% understanding on right & wrong things & situations such as "Hey, I definitely don't think I shouldn't wear this without a shirt & pants. That's weird dude, plus inappropriate, I get you think it's a good idea but trust me dude, this is one idea I'm not going to go along with." Like I love Soos, don't get me wrong he's super wholesome BUT, I definitely think he needs better understanding.
@MasterofInterspace6 ай бұрын
I like this episode in that it takes a very nuanced look at business. Most people nowadays would just say that Mabel was right to be generous and leave it at that. The truth is, businesses have the prices they have for a reason. It's supposed to be able to cover the cost of the product, shipping and handling, the employees, the needs of the building, theft of other products if you're in a bad neighborhood, and regulations and taxes. Free samples and spontaneous deals are good for eateries, or in a business after a customer has already purchased a large quantity of goods like a book store. The purpose of it is to get repeat customers, and show your quality customers that you value them. The Mystery Shack is a tourist trap, there's unlikely to be repeat customers. And those that do, it won't be because of the free bumper sticker, it'll be because this person wants to show someone else the tourist trap. The economy functions by people setting prices on products and the people deciding, individually, whether they're willing to pay that price for that product.

You're not being subtle, you aren't disguising anything about your comments, & all it takes to turn them INTO a spoiler is for someone else to POINT OUT that it's a blatant spoiler. You could very easily say things like "I can't wait for Alicia to finally meet the Dorito in a top hat" & there is NOTHING about that statement that would signify said Dorito is important in the slightest. A Dorito in a top hat is absolutely par for the course on a show like this. Point is: don't be a dick about it. Don't just write something one to one, put a twist on it. Technically, Mabel lost the bet. The actual bet was that she could make more money than Stan running the Shack HER way, and she didn't, she lost a LOT of money doing things her way. She only started making money when she began running things the way Stan did, the very thing she was against that kicked off the bet in the first place. What more, even though he ended up losing it, Stan DID make more money than she did. So Mabel actually lost the bet.

On the "I can see the strings" think on the Gremoblin, this is something I have had to suppress as a rant on so many cryptid videos, UFO videos, etc...yes a good number are hoaxes, but people online forget that most cameras are crap...mine is a cheapy from Walmart that has a hard time focusing on a deer in a yard and in lower lighting takes like six seconds to actually take the photo despite being my phone camera as it auto-adjusts or something. The second is the arm-chair experts online, now the examples I am going to give are not real monsters but they were real photos of physical things, so the first is there was a photo circulating of a bear in a zoo with mange, and for some reason the click bait vids and articles kept circulating this photo as a werewolf, and so the arm-chair experts online kept making comments about it "clearly being a costume" and pointing out all these things like wrinkly cuffs, the suit is loose, you can see the seams...and all this sounding so confident when...it was a bear. Not a costume, its not a werewolf granted but its also not a costume so all that stuff they were saying and agreeing with each other over was nonsense just trying to sound smart....the second is worse, so there was a photo of a "goblin in a cave" how the click bait articles and youtube channels were peddling it and these armchair experts went on and on about CGI and they could tell because of shadowing and boarders on the objects relative to the cave and air and all that...this was the general arm chair expert consensus...until a number of us recognizing this goblin posted links to a real photo...of the park it is a statue in. It was a park in the UK full of fairy and gobline fairytale kind of statues and figures and fairy houses and what not, yes it wasn't a real goblin...but it was a real physical object in the photograph, not photoshop special effects. as an aside for my first remark about the cameras, its a catch 22 online. If you get a clear photo of something you don't know what it is, they will say its photoshop, CGI, or these days AI generated. But if you get a blurry photo they will say, well isn't it so convenient its blurry or isn't it weird how "ALL" these photos are always so blurry even though everyone has these good cameras. or the dumbest one where they think store CCTV should be the same quality as fricken multi billion dollar NASA satellites. That said on the topic of the Gremoblin and people freaked out by "real things", if I were a mathematician I would try to work out what I call the "ghost breaking point", people watching ghost hunting shows or videos will have the believability index, which can break either by seeing something suspicious (like a door closing but they never have a hallway camera set up to catch it moving from both sides) or "too much is happening". that later one I've noticed hits the fear factor, a lot of people "want to believe" but they want to believe it at a safe distance, the idea the ghosts are real but can't hurt them, like they can only do small things and this uses up all their energy (according to ghost hunters) or you rarely hear them speak and you need special devices to pick up their voices. But as soon as they show "too much" activity and can clearly hurt someone...then its "too much" they don't want to believe anymore, they don't want to believe its an inhuman/elf/bogle/demon/house spirit or whatever their culture and time wants to label it, that there could be an invisible or able to be invisible entity able to freely enter and move about their home while they are asleep in bed...its "too scary" so they shut down believing before that point...I've met people who will go on and on about spirits, but insist they need to be summoned or can only communicate via this device and they actively ignore my pointing out folklore predating both of those things. I can apply to this to lots of supernatural stuff, like a living toy is cute in a kids movie but the second someone thinks that's doll head looked their way they are freaking out.
