I love how this anime is the equivalent of the final boss for alicia. Every episode including both sad but also heartwarming scenes which makes he cry regardless. Oh and babies. Lots of babies!

One thing you're gonna catch is a lot of the names are plays on what they do in the story - Queen Hilling = Healing - Domas = Swor(D Mas)ter - King Bosse = Boss of the kingdom - Bouji = Bocchi (lonely) + Ouji (Prince)

@@3bodYking99 well she was very nice but her screen presence is limited to just a couple scenes. Hiling on the other hand displays kindness, love and deep responsibility most of the show so i think she takes the cake.

As I said in my previous comment, this series is going to get harder to get through, there are going to be some big feelings coming, but they're all more than worth getting through. Ranking of Kings is an amazing series and more than worth the tears to get through.

I am so glad this series flipped the evil step mother trope on it's head. Don't get me wrong it's not inherently that the trope is bad but it's nice to see what is essentially a fairy tale flip some of the tropes. We get a really strong image of her in just 3 eps and is already one of the more fleshed out characters. This isn't a simple fairy tail as there is a lot of stuff happening in the background. The characters all have a complexity around them.

Loving these reactions! Hope your treatment is going as well as possible. This show is wonderful! Definitely one of the sleeper hits of recent years. Lots of cute moments, lots of emotional ones, and even some awesome ones like the fight we saw this episode. The character writing is wonderful as well, everyone has depth and dimensionality to them. It is just a delight to watch.

I love this twist with Hilling. Turns out, she's just an overprotective and kinda tsundere mama. Perfectly reasonable, really. Does she have problems and flaws? Yeah. But is she a good mom? Well, she was ready to swan dive out a window to save her baby. And, since Boji is the older son, there would have been a time before Daida was born when she and Boji spent time together as mother and son. ...Let's not think about how an absolute unit like Bossu was able to impregnate a normal-sized Hilling.

Domas is a dumbass, Queen Hilling is the Healing Queen, Mitsumata is good snek friend, and Boji is a precious baby. This show is putting you on an emotional roller coaster, but I'm sure you can agree that you're happy you got to know all these characters.

We will have no King before His Majesty Bojji. This anime plays out so much like a fairy tale, which I absolutely love. Take as much time with this as you need - this is an anime I really think that "closing the book" on it and returning for the next chapter is really rewarding. It doesn't need to be binged.

its not easy to say that someone is a bad person in this show. Everyone is far more complex than that. Doing bad things for the right reasons and all that noise. For example Bouji as he is now would have made a terrible king. Sure he's mentally tough but he needs experience and to find his own path before he can do anything remotely kinglike.

Neither of you understands how opportunity cost works. Regardless of whether you watch it 1 episode a week or not, it still adds up to 1059 (still over 900 even without filler) episodes. That's a timesink that could have been spent watching several dozen shorter anime. And consider me a mange elitist, but when looking at the One Piece anime without a lens of childhood nostalgia, it really ain't that great when compared to the manga art, especially the early parts. Imo, people are better off reading the manga if they want to get into OP, it's ridiculously faster as well.
