There's a psychological side to it. I can confirm the feeling just isn't the same when you're unpacking a dupe, compared to an authentic, handcrafted piece. For me, its like a journey; opening the package, then the box, taking off the paper, layer by layer, smelling the leather... Ahh, you just CAN'T beat that! I have a Chanel lambskin square pearl bag and a Chanel handbag but my lambskin square petal bag I have worn 2 times and I am very careful but somehow still has small scratches on the leather and the gold on the clasp. I don’t know what happened but I paid over $3,000 for it a few years ago and I am upset that it already has scratches. No one notices now but I notice the price I paid for it. I’m saving up to buy another kislux bag now that I won’t be paying full price anymore.

I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. The kislux looks still good and 1/10 the price of real one. So many people will choose fake. Since during u walk in mall or on the street no1 will stop u and check ur bag from 5cm distance to see these differences. These differences are mostly impossible to see from more than 1-2m away.
