The most amazing thing is how new and fresh the film still looks. Aliens has that 80s feel to it but the original film has an utterly timeless quality to it

Saw it on opening night May 25, 1979..the deadliest air crash in Chicago had just occurred, a feeling of dread permeated that entire Memorial weekend and the beginning of the most frightening franchise in science fiction was born.

Was probably an occult ritual, just like the earthquake in LA on the release of the first GnR album. The world is full of witchcraft and most people don't even realize it, because the ones doing it repeatedly tell them there is nothing to see here and give them 100 examples how to ridicule those who say anything else.

That is interesting. Jim Cameron literally used an almost identical shot when Hicks poked up through the ceiling grates to reveal the Aliens.

You know, the original trailer is like the movie: original. Modern trailers give away WAY TOO MUCH of the plot so you can assume half the fates of the crew before the damn thing even starts.

Ok, good for the most part, but two gripes: one, it shows the alien, even for just a moment; and two, it gives away a huge plot twist, that being Ash is an android

I don't think that it does spoil the ash reveal since it doesn't show him being dicapitsted or when he does heats himself in 1:30, if you haven't see the film you may think that he gets attacked

Modern trailers give away too damn much of the movie you are going to watch. That is why I like the original trailer, you had no idea what was coming. I couldn't tell whether it would exactly have enticed me to actually go see the movie or not, but at least nothing was spoiled beforehand haha. That's the reason I stopped watching before trailer number 200 of Alien Romulus
