36:00 - the Engineers planted the wheat, _clearly._ It’s foreshadowing that this planet is not a pristine canvas. Wheat as it exists today has been cultivated through selective breeding in a way that would never, ever occur in nature. It’s a sign that the planet has had intelligent life on it. What’s more, it’s a sorta nod toward the engineers seeding humanity and David’s desire to create the perfect organism via genetic revisions. It’s also - arguably - a bit of worldbuilding. If the wheat on this planet is the same as the wheat on earth... was the wheat on earth a gift from the Engineers? (If so, is it a metaphor for Mana from Heaven). Did the engineers keep visiting earth after initially seeding it?
