I feel that i should mention that if they caught the mutated queen during her molting cycle, then she wasnt actually a queen yet and was just a Praetorian that was able to molt when the previous queen died but was then infected by the Pathogen during its molting cycle, thereby giving the question of why it didnt have an eggsack, an answer. the young, not yet fully molted queen, if left undisturbed, would likely have finished her new, mutated molting cycle and created a new form of eggsack or possibly began to give birth to live mutated xenos that look more like the Neomorphs, instead of eggs and facehuggers.

I wouldn't refer to it as "being infected" the pathogen acts just like royal jelly in the lore, and it will also change Xenomorphs, for them its an evolution using their own materials.

@@lancer737 if you think about it, though its seen in the same light as the royal jelly, its a totally different substance. the jelly mostly only mutates and evolves xenos, though it was used to create Xeno Zip which did enhance the humans who took it, albeit temporarily. the Pathogen however, is just as it was described by david in alien covenant, an almost living, and programmable, nanoscopic A.I., with the ability to trigger uncontrollable mutations in those infected by it. And given how david had to experiment with different mutated lifeforms and some of both the black goo and Elizabeth Shaws now reactivated eggs do to the introduction of the pathogen to Shaws husband and thereby its introduction to Shaws reproductive system during Prometheus, during his stay on Paradise, its reaction to any lifeform that has already went through the evolution phase of it being introduced to an un-mutated lifeform on a world to trigger the growth of new life, then its subsequent mutation into an extremely hostile, further mutated, life form if and or when the pathogen gets reintroduced to said world, it becomes clear that the pathogen is far different when compared to the royal jelly, as you mentioned, and is quite clearly an infection, and does most of what it does, via its virus-like behavior, effectively an advanced synthetic retrovirus. i.e. BEING INFECTED.

I don't get how the pathogen is capable of mutating a xenomorph. It's literally the same reproductive fluid that facehuggers use to impregnate hosts, the only difference perhaps that the xenomorph, as well as the neomorph, has a species genetic code to make its family all so similar. The xenomorph isn't a regular organism though to be able to be impregnated by the pathogen, neither are the resulting subjects of the same pathogen like the neomorph. Xenomorphs are biomechanic, the non-organic part should make it so they're not capable of suffering the same fate as a human, for example, so I don't see how this makes sense. The only logical explanation I could see is that the mutations were caused by something else, or that there's no mutation and it's all part of their biology that we don't fully understand yet, which I think is the best one.

@@radrno7 Its the same as Royal Jelly, has the same random affects. In that case it does constantly change them, maybe it depends on the concentration? But Palentine Guard that are only around the Queen Mother, if I remember right, are birthed from her and constantly feed Royal Jelly. They are ridiculously powerful, fast, and have good durability though not as good as a fair amount of heavy combat evolutions.

@@radrno7 the reproductive fluid of face facehuggers is only a variant of the Pathogen that carries the Xenomorph gene codes. There are numerous variations of the Pathogen that all vary in their stability and mutation effects. Xenomorphs are Biomechanical, but they are ultimately organic in nature, their mechanical aspects are organic. The Pathogen likely just changes these mechanical parts into stronger versions of standard muscle and tissue. Looking closely at the more mechanical Xenomorph parts you'll find they are in formations like muscles and tendons. Mechanical doesn't necessarily mean that it's not organic, if those parts weren't organic they wouldn't exist and grow in when a xeno is fully molted. Ultimately those parts are just modified strands of muscles and tendons as seen primarily around the head and neck. If the Pathogen mutates and evolves them, that means those parts are converted into more traditional muscles and tendons albeit stronger and more durable. The claws are a great example of this too, with standard xenos have smaller claws that come in sets of 2, whereas The Pathogen Brood however have 1 larger claw per digit. Ultimately it does make sense, however it does seem that the results were unstable.

Aliens FTE treats the franchise with more respect than half of the movies do and have a fun time with it at the same time. I liked the expansion (wish it was longer) and the new hardcore mode is fun as well.

I like the idea of an expansion, but I wish it was 4 packs of 3 missions each instead of just one set. It seems a bit expensive for that, especially with the base game available on game pass.

Yeah it was done quick for me. I would like more levels as the Pathogen creatures didn't really start until mid 2cnd mission and the Neomorph-like things are just reskinned runner aliens with the same movement and attacks. Final Boss was fun though.

I really loved the neomorph in 'Alien - Covenant', probably one of the few that actually enjoyed it lol, so getting a DLC on it was so good to me. I like how they're expanding on what we've seen in the movies, like what is the neomorph's life cycle? How does it link up to the fungus? Does it have a hive structure like the xenomorph? Why doesn't it have acid blood like the hammerpede? Lots of potential with this new species.

I really and I mean really want to know the supposedly end game of the engineers as it seems they are so fond of making those pathogens that causes rapid mutations on every organisms. Why are they so poor on containment of these experiments? Maybe its true the engineers have two factions like one aims to create and the other is to destroy, change or corrupt the said creations? If only there is a conversation between an engineer and humans about their views and creations and what engineers think of humanity creating synthetics? I know in prometheus its obvious they hate it but why? Why create xenos that actually destroy them while hating synthetics that help humanity to progress? I have another theory that If humanity able to transfer consciousness to a synthetic they will be immortal and this is like against the create and destroy cycle done by gods which represented by the two factions of engineers. Boi I need another movie set about engineers.

If engineers are just highly advanced humans, their culture is likely more complicated than ours (more than two factions). More than half of humanity are members of apocalyptic, death cults (certain religions) and even they can't get along with each other.

It seems pretty simple. Engineers used to want to reproduce by seeding other planets, then when humanity came to exist, a group, the ones with the xeno suits, decided that humans can't be gods like them, creating artificial life such as androids, so instead of just creating life they started to create death, the bioweapons of mass destruction such as the xenomorph. There it is, just summed up the whole idea behind 'Prometheus'.

Neo are normally not part of the Aliens just a Mutated what if Creature it fast but Has No Armor at all it would have been torn to shreds by a Basic Alien. But to Buff up the Story to these Neomorph 🙄 they will Write it as the Bestest Killer Ever look it kills Xenomorphs like nothing 😑 please the writers No Nothing About how the Xenomorph are and how More So Dangerous they are they would Rip apart a Neo.

As they await the cargo lift, the creature charges Daniels and Lopé, who fire at it, only for the Neomorph to nimbly dodge their shots. When Daniels runs out of ammunition, she activates the extendable bayonet on her rifle and prepares to make a futile last stand. The Praetomorph born from Oram then arrives, and the two alien creatures engage in a brawl as Daniels and Lopé run to the ship; the Praetomorph quickly disembowels the Neomorph, killing it.

I don’t think the pathogen was supposed to be at this engineer outpost given the lack of protective suits. It was probably just a civilian outpost 2,000 years ago. Maybe there was an issue with one of their ships transporting the pathogen so they temporarily stopped over at the planet and unloaded the containers while they fixed the ship. The white goop is probably a local fungal species that was mutated when an engineer pathogen container sprung a leak. The engineers from the ship upon realizing this then tried to sterilize the ruin killing numerous civilians. Angered the surviving civilians killed the crew and defaced the statues of their leaders who they blamed for the incident. They then left a warning behind and sealed the ruins. Years later the Xenos inadvertently breached the ruins and carried the infection back to their hive. The regular Xenos sensed the infection and retaliated against the mutants but some of them survived and managed to escape with a queen egg or alternatively one of the praetorians got infected and escaped. Upon reaching her imago/teenager form she then made more infected Xenos probably by using the belly burster method from AVP: Requiem which would explain the lack of eggs. Fortunately for everyone she was killed before she could molt fully into her mature egg laying Queen form.

In one of the updates in the last 6 months, this game made a change to that lonely egg that sits around the corner of the queen aliens lair. When you push the last lever in 4-3 level and start running, make a right turn to find it. This egg could be destroyed before during the games first few months. But now it cannot be blown up. I wonder if this is that queen egg buster that was mentioned by Esther. Since it's already open, the face hugger is gone. Maybe that's the one that got exposed to pathogen. Just a theory though.

"they came here to fight a competitor species and its not going well for them" then why do we only find a few dead xeno's? a dozen at best; they said they dont leave their dead behind willingly so that would suggest that the few areas we find the dead xenomorphs would mean they lost there, but otherwise they havent fought yet or have in fact won against the pathogen creatures also, somthing i wonder major spoilers for the prequel book for the gaem BTW in the book, a pathogeon xenomorph, monica, is created (if i recall correctly) by infecting a human with a facehugger and while the chestburster is still fresh in the body, they infect them with a small ammount of the black goo after a while, monica if i recall correctly starts giving orders to the normal xenomorphs in nearby cages and a leon, a pathogen lifeform and in this game monica is fought on katanga in order to get to dr honicker, and it fights alongside the normal xenomorphs so what gives? is a small ammount of Black goo not enough to make the xeno's and pathogen creatures hate each other but enough of a change is?

I think the dlc was short 🤔 but at least it’s good I would love more horde maps, they’re fast and cheaper than campaign dlc and would give hours and hours of play 😬, an expansion pack with 5 or 6 maps a few weapons and attachments would be nice. Pd: I would like the story of the base campaign i like the narration and it’s a little bit confuse the form they tell it in game.

I just thought of a question that I feel may be adequately answered here: Were Xenos specifically bioengineered by engineers? Or are they a product of their Pathogen? If Prometheus is canon and David is the reason we know xenos as they are in the movies.. what does this mean to the canon lore of engineers having a war with their Yautja creations who made it a central facet in their culture to hunt xenos? Yautja have been around much longer than humans and engineers made both species. So if humans came around after the yautja, and the yautja hunt xenos for culture reasons, how is it that aliens as we know them didnt exist until after humans were around long enough to advance into space travel and android tech, for David to get created and him to go on to the events of Prometheus and create the aliens we know today that the yautja have been hunting for centuries before we ever knew life beyond earth existed??? Does prometheus change that engineers made xenos as living weapons to fight the yautja? And if so.. does that mean they ARE a product of the pathogen? And furthermore if so, how would they mutate in this dlc story due to pathogen exposure? Wouldnt they be immune to it, or is it just known that the pathogen will mutate anything it contacts even if it has previously mutated that same thing? Sorry for the length of this "question" lol I'm a lore dude though. I could talk about this and all kinds of other shit all day long about game lore

I want a Skyrim + Predator game. Huge open worlds with RPG elements. Unlock skills, find Elders for Gear, a point system, exploring and hunting beasts. Just something different. I know there's a mod about this but it's complicated to get all the files to work. I just want a base game like this.

Whats bad is I still cant get past the part in the main game where your having to holdout in that hangar. Also my guy theres some metallic sound on your audio recording. I dont know what it is. I can only akin it to the noise uou hear when you bang a metal table with metal stuff sitting on it. Or an aluminum can hitting the floor.

Literally I always thought about this too. Even in the novels xenomorphs were mutated (specifically the one with the mutant predator if i recall correctly) by the pathogen. I don’t understand how if they were massively hinted at from coming from it. I mean you can outright say created from it since David made the proto xenomorph. So if that’s the case could the proto xeno be mutated by the goo if it itself was literally created from the goo since it’s still a type of xeno?

When you finish the main game it mentions that a rival of weyland yutani is on the way to the planet. Also in the book that acts as a prequel to this the rival company also paid employees to sabotage pala Station so there's something there for more campaign dlc

Always hoped they would either do something with the books like have them in games or an anime series or something. King alien would be cool to see for sure. Especially if the Queen and King fight
