I hope you people can relax :) The way this comment feed looks right now is exaclty why I would NOT post a deliberate copy of someone elses work. When inspired by other artists I do give them credit. This however is just an unfortunate coincidence.

It's really not even an exact copy at all. If you'd happened to have used a different colour scheme it would look very different.. It's a shame it turned out so much like Mykie's in the end, but I don't believe you guys have any reason to copy anyone... You're very creative and I'll keep watching!

ellimacs sfx makeup I believe the make-up you do is completely your own. Everything is a remake of something, just in a different style. I watch all the main SFX artist because I'm planning on making my own channel of my work and style. The reason I haven't started putting anything up yet is of the fear of people being well... people. You do a fantastic job on coming up with idea's and I give you 100% on the footage of you distributing your work. Very Nice!

ellimacs sfx makeup I really don't think they meant to. And you can tell that these guys were going for an alien and Mykie was going for a monster. I think I like this one better. I like how there's tiny teeth inside the big ones. And the tutorial was much easier for just anyone to do. It's a lot easier to put cotton around your face then it is to get a life cast of your face and sculpt a new face onto it with clay. Some people suck at sculpting crap with clay. This is way easier less expensive and complicating and I think it's just better overall. That's just my opinion. But, you can tell that they were going for an alien and not a monster. I've seen TONS of makeups with teeth similar to this though. I can see one on the side of this video right now by some SeV OnU person.

LMAO I am a huge fan of Mykie and am pretty new to this channel but it's completely obvious this is not a copy. The techniques used aren't even comparable and, like many have said earlier, the color palette is different.

Guys chill out! they've said already it was an accident! anyway they're not even alike! i love love love mykie so much and if i thought it was a rip off of that trust me i would speak my mind the way I am now! there is one similarity between the two of them and its the teeth and beady eyes! any monster creation has big teeth and beady eyes! mykies has hair and a nose and thats not in this look, mykies colour of the monster is a dark grey/ off black colour and this is white/ beige! this is a great look ellie and macs I love it! keep up the great work!

***** The only thing similar is the end product. Mykie's tutorial is vastly different from Elli's. Mykie even states in her behind the scenes video about her NYX Top 20 entry that she spent a long time researching it and putting it together using documented and utilised monster ideas from media and I'm sure Ellimacs does the same thing. I commented above on another thread that SFX makeup is a finite industry, overlaps between artists will happen all the time and most are unintentional. It was purely a coincidence and they shouldn't have to credit Mykie because the look is similar - chances are it'll show in the sidebar anyway. They film well in advance so there is time to edit correctly so Macs could have filmed this over a month ago and the release time was just unfortunate. You never know, so don't get upset about something that wasn't meant maliciously.

So no, no I'm not giving credit to anyone for someting I came up with och did even if someone else did somethins similar -that I AGAIN had not seen before :) Keeping in mind the amount of time it takes to make these tutorials I could just as well had been that we posted it before.. and would you then say she copied ours? Think not missy. :)

I'm assuming the work that everyone is talking about this is similar to is Mykie's Paranormal Activity NYX Face Awards monster, but personally I think that is a stretch. I adore her, and I adore that piece that she created, but I don't think this is copying it at all. When I saw your note on the subject, I was super confused and had to think for a moment what this look was similar to. You're both original and creative. All the allegations thrown your way kind of make me sad inside, because I've been watching you guys long enough to know that you're original, creative, and charismatic in every way. As always... unreal! My number one inspirational sfx makeup KZbinrs. Also a massive fan of Mykie, she clearly got ripped off and copied before with the frozen Elsa look but you guys don't need to rip off anyone else's looks, it was just unfortunate Mykie had posted a "similar" look few days ago and now people feel the need to attack and say you guys copied her. If they saw all your previous videos, they'd see you've no need to copy other make up artists looks! Keep up the good work. I did this for Halloween and it came out perfect! The instructions were clear and overall easy to follow! I got a lot of compliments on it. The only thing was that I had to make the eye holes bigger because I couldn't see all that well.

a little tip: if you put a little vasoline in your hair line, it helps to make it flat and the latex wont pull on your hair

afew questions, 1. what sort of clothes would you wear with this design of mask..? 2. for the jaw on the mask, i have a beard and dont really fancy shaving, is there anything like a medical dressing or something i could use to cover up and latex on top of..? 3. i want to do something else on the head, would it be ok to wear a bald cap, and afew layers of liquid latex and let it set so it keeps the curvature of my head and i can later take it off and put it on a ball or something so i can add to it, 4. for the teeth whats best to use...? as i dont want them to fall off half way through the party or be too soft 5. how well can you hear through the latex..? 1) you could wear whatever you want :) 2) there's loads of tutorials on KZbin how to cover hair. you could use spirit gum, Vaseline, glue etc. 3) idk about that one😂 4) you could use clay or fake nails 5) if you're really worried, you can poke a small hole where your ears are, or just miss out your ear completely :) hope this helps

Mykie makes a prostatic, elli makes it directly on her face with a different technique 3.the only thing whats the same is the color of the monster; mykie did other theeth with hair ect. 4. Can you tell me what type of clay you are using for the teeth? I bought some regular molding clay but I don't think it'll hold up before it dries. Are you using polymer? Thanks in advance. :)

+Amy Horton Yes, this is polymer clay. It doesn't have to dry before use so it will be a little bit soft still. But you can also use PolyMorph Plastic, it's waaaay better for this. Watch the Killer Snail tutorial. We create teeth with that material there.

I'll be honest guys, where I can see the similarities between Mykie's and your monster in the texture and the teeth, there is so much different between the two that I really don't think this was copied. If it looks similar then that's just a coincidence! I get that the fans of Glam and Gore get very protective ever since Mykie talked about how much she hates copying but she also said that if you ever see it happening to just tell her and leave it because y'all go too ham in the comments and she was right in that sense.. Sucks that this video will be tainted with silly controversy now.

Remember what she said about us all taking inspiration from nature and other artists around us? You can be inspired by something without copying it, and you don't necessarily have to give credit unless you're directly using someone else's idea or technique. This has certain little parts that are similar to Mykie's, but she changed plenty of it so that it's her own. Everyone needs to chill.

It sucks to think all these people don't realise you do a hell of a lot of awesome sfx tutorials and you don't have to copy anyone to get the following you have. What Mykie did for the NYX awards was kinda cool but techniques used here give a more professional looking outcome. I love Mykie, but people need to learn that awesome brains can have equally awesome ideas and sometimes accidentally at the same time!

You could use oil, lotion, or even makeup remover on your fingers to stop them from sticking to the clay.
