I watched this last night. Absolutely classic film. The acting from everyone was amazing. Ash and Ripley first scene in the lab was amazing. Ian Holme plays it with that awkward co worker vibe. Two people who really don't like each other. The subtext was amazingly well played

I had the pressure to meet them both I met Tom on a movie set. He was very nice. I told him he was great in Alien he said thanks and shook my hand. Also I met Veronica at a play from the movie the birds . It was a comedy. she was very sweet she let me take a picture with her. Great memories.

I loved her character and had a crush on her. I was 11 when I watched this 1998. My parents didn't want me watching it. I was intrigued when I saw clips of the movie on the Sci-Fi channel. This was when sci-fi channel was good.

I have seen the 3 hour version of Alien which was released online a few years back, but was taken down after a couple of days. It's really slow and full of moments that don't add anything to the film.

She was amazing. Its a shame so many of her scenes were cut they added alot to Lambert's character. She would have done just as well had she played Ripley as was originally intended.

Interesting bit about Veronica thinking she was considered or even the producers thought of her in the lead role...I think she could easily have pulled it off. Unfortunately, her career has been filled with roles where she played " desperate " women, and I still think the correct choices were made for the roles. Is it just me, or were other people who have watched the various movies really MORE disgusted by some of the human characters than they were the monster(s)? The hubris nearly everyone except Sigourney (?) and Veronica's characters display when dealing with the monster....

The weird politics she's talking about were the fact that she VERONICA CARTWRIGHT was offered the lead Ripley, remember she had an extensive resume including THE BIRDS and INVASION OF THE BODYSNATCHERS but when she arrived in London they switched her to Lambert a thankless role she didn't audition for. Sigourney Weaver had NO CREDITS but her father ran a movie studio.... so...... I sure we know how that happened.

There was only ONE film, created by Ridley Scott and designed By H.R. Giger. It was a one time, seen for the very first time, Gothic Horror film in space. We saw a creature that no one had ever imagined and it was brought to us by the vision of one artist. 'Aliens" was a film that used the name only, and had nothing to do with the original film. It was a cash grab , whereby a talented artist named James Cameron wrote and designed the entire film, without HR Giger. He removed the clear domes from the alien, which was the coolest aspect of the design, and made them like Drones or Ants instead of the formidable creature in the original film. He also designed and created the whole idea of a "Queen". This was an action film, completely unlike the horror of the original.
