Alien Vs. Predator - Arcade - Speedrun in

This is my new PB for Alien Vs Predator in level 8. My previous PB was 24:21 and I'm glad my first sub 24 was already such a low time. It's impossible to get a perfect run and what you can do is to try to not have many mistakes and hope that the game colaborates with you. I'm satisfied with this time and I don't know if I'll try to improve it.
This is the world record for the game, but not an official one as I used an emulator to play. I can assure that I did not cheat by using any emulator tool that could help me to achieve this result, my skills are legit.
Edit: I decided to return to the game and actually had the chance of a sub 23, but things did not work out the way I expected in last screen against enemies and last Boss and I ended up getting a 23:30. My current PB is 23:28 and I intend to keep trying till I get a sub 23 and when I do so I'll post the video.
Este é meu novo melhor tempo no Alien Vs Predator na dificuldade 8. Meu melhor tempo anteriormente era de 24:21 e estou feliz que meu primeiro tempo abaixo de 24 já tenha sido tão baixo. É impossível que uma jogada saia perfeita e o que se pode fazer é tentar ter o mínimo de erros possíveis e torcer para o jogo colaborar. Estou bastante satisfeito com este tempo e não sei se vou tentar melhorá-lo.
Vale dizer que este tempo é o recorde mundial para o jogo, porém um recorde não oficial, pois joguei usando um emulador. Porém eu garanto que não usei nenhum artifício do emulador que pudesse me favorecer, minhas habilidades são legítimas.
Edit: Acabei retornando ao jogo e já tive, inclusive, oportunidade de fazer abaixo de 23min, mas as coisas saíram tão mal na última tela com os inimigos e a chefe final que meu tempo acabou sendo 23:30. Meu recorde atual é 23:28, mas pretendo tentar continuar até conseguir abaixo de 23. Quando eu conseguir postarei o video.

Excellent technique speedmeister. This was such a gem of a game, and Capcom's very serious answer to streets of rage 2. I used to put plenty of quarters into this in now defunct arcades. I think it's great Capcom recently included this in their recent arcade stick package. This is also on MAME, or if you can get your hands on an original arcade cabinet. Wonderful graphics, sound, music, and even the story with a few cutscenes and some text was a better film than the one we got in 2004.

lmao you just machine-gunned the Mad Predator to death 14:29. It reminds me of that scene from Raiders of the Lost ark where Indy is about to fight the swordsman in a duel and then just calmly pulls out his gun and shoots him dead.

@@4713Caine lmfao! Thanks for your comment. I remember that scene. Iirc Harrison Ford had diarrhea and wanted to quickly go to the bathroom, so instead of going for what the director wanted which would take too long he just shot the bastard. I'm glad they kept that. And yeah, this game is really great in many aspects. And what makes it a lot fun to speedrun (as it happens to many games) is the glitches, such as the Mad Predator quick kill.

It's a common thing in Beat'em ups. It's a move you''re supposed to use when you are surrounded by enemies, so you knock all enemies down and have the chance to better position your character avoiding more damage. This is a move that is specially useful in Final Fight, but usually has it's place in many games in many different situations.

I run the game in an emulator and save the replay file it generates. When I get the run I want I have to run the file and make an encode so I can upload the encode to KZbin. My computer is not powerful enough to encode the file (Or I don't know how to make an encode properly) so I sent this specific file to a friend, who encoded and this was the result. I noticed it was cropped, but he couldn't get anything better and there was no important information hidden, so I decided to keep this one. I actually have a 23:21 run now, but didn't upload it yet due to the encode issue. Also, I'm still trying to get a sub 23min run, so if I can get such run I'll just upload that run instead of one for each pb I get.

Here is my pb which is 30 seconds faster than this one you watched. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIWne4ttnpuaidE In regards of knowing where the enemies are going to jump, that's common knowledge for anyone who even plays this game casually as long as they play enough. To memorize the position from where the enemies are going to spawn is a very trivial thing for many games, inclusing beat'em ups and shoot'em ups.

Hey, man! How you're doing? Thanks for your comment! I did not cheat and did not use emulator tools. I actually got a much better run than this up to last screen which could have been a 42:5x, but lost too much time and it ended up beeing a 23:30, so I did not upload the video. I usually play on Fightcade, online, so if you want a proof of my skills just challenge me for an online match. I don't have my Arcade controller due to problems with it, and the ps2 controller I'm using is giving me headaches, but I can still play pretty fine. Hope to see you around.

That's cool you play on Fightcade too! When I say "Match" I'm talking about playing cooperatively. You can challenge me and play with me or just let me play alone and watch and decide for yourself if my video is fake or not, and although I'm pretty sure I can't reproduce the same run (mostly becuase of my crappy controller and RNG beeing a bitch) you can see I'm trying the same tricks throughout the run.
