I thought this was about the first movie, then I looked at the clip. Yikes. Aliens has to be one of the worst sci-fi movies ever made. The whole thing isn't worth a second of one of the two first Terminators, not sure what happened in Cameron's head when he made that thing. Lots of oiled muscular dudes showing skin, but to find a good line or decent acting skills in that movie, you'll have to search for it. Generally speaking, the first Alien movie was intriguing and called for sequels... sequels that'd flesh out the lore and themes brought to the table by the very nature of Xenomorphs. Their status as a bioweapon, their parasytic life cycle, how they doomed their creators, etc... The two first Terminators do that perfectly between the lines, while staying entry-level action stuff (with great action and cinematography). The Alien license just calls a movie "Prometheus" in case someone failed to notice the similaries with that man-old myth, and calls it a day. There's literally no substance to extract from these... 5? 6? 7 movies by now? So much time dedicated to filming absolutely nothing of value... I'd like to say good things about Alien but besides the creature's design and the first movie, the license is a mess. Oh well, Scott is no stranger to this, he managed to ignore any trace of what held Do Androids Dream together when he made Blade Runner. But hey, the pistol in that movie is cool, so it must be ok by hollywood's standards when it comes to sci-fi.

@@Clebardman I watched Aliens in TV as a kid. I wish I could experience the suspense I felt in the last third of the movie again, but alas your brain grows calluses very quickly. As an adult I appreciate all the other aspects of the movie instead. The pacing, the banter, the aesthetics, characters, monsters, weapons etc. Like T1 & T2 so many lines and scenes are instantly recognized when 'borrowed' in other movies, games etc. The later Alien movies can all go die in a fire

Aliens³ was actually awesome, Fincher´s version was just not accepted by the Producers and never made it to the theatrical cut, thus almost nobody knows about it. You should try to get hold of the assembly cut, i promise you, its a new film. I always thought the production quality and acting was great, and wondered why the film itself lacked a good editing to bring it en par with the prequels. Thats why - too many cooks forced it.
