That video is ultimately why I chose the KJV. I originally intended to get a NIV but couldn't find one that I liked. In the intervening time I watched that video and settled on the King James. I personally believe it was providence that made me wait. 😅

There is a fantastic book called "Thou hast magnified thy word Above All Thy Name" by Martin Klein (he actually quotes Walter Veith a few times) about the different versions of the Bible. A very good resource, and well cited.

What many JW & SDA dont realize is that the Russell brothers were part of the great Advent movement, but they would not accept the 7th day Sabbath and chose to worship the spurious Sunday of Rome. Thats why some beliefs are similar. No chuch building, cathedral, denomination, or your name on its register is your ticket to Heaven. We have to be born again of the Spirit and the water. Our ticket to Heaven is thru Jesus only. We must know Him. 😊

My mother lives in a building that was a Jehovah Witness church. It was a Jehovah Witness church in the late 60s and 70s. Then it became a Seventh day Adventist church, that I attended when I was a kid in the late 80s. Small building. It had no windows. My mother had windows installed.

As in at some point way back in the day, there were people who were Seventh day Adventist, but decided they didn't believe in all of the teachings anymore so they form their own group. No, Seventh day and Jehovah are not the same or connected

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking why I keep the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) or my understanding of why Jehovah's Witnesses keep Sunday?

A positive thing of the Jewhovas Witnesses are that they are often very well raised and Erik gives the same expression. Glad he talks about it, I know hardly anything about them either. Don't give me too much credit. I was an enemy of God for basically all of my 20s. I'm not exaggerating at all. I hated my Creator because I had bought into Satan's lies about who He is and how He views mankind. It was only in my early 30s that I slowly began to make my way back to Jesus Christ, and then only because He had given me the time and grace necessary to really see and become convicted of the truth found in His Word.

Me and my grandmother grew up as jehovah’s witnesses but as we got into the word and the truth set us free we became Adventists. Matthew if your reading this I was hoping maybe you could give us a better understanding about the trinity in Thursday’s show, we’re having a hard time understanding how Jesus is the creator when in the OT he is called jehovah(YHWH). And also there seems to be some contradictions on this subject in the 4 gospels like Matthew 24:36 and the end of John 14:28

Jesus is the same as the Father in heaven in substance but different in personality. They are two different people but the substance that makes up Jesus is the exact same timeless, infinite substance that makes up His Father. Say for example you have a boulder made of granite. You cleave off a chunk of the boulder and now you have two pieces of granite. Now, these are technically two different rocks, but if you analyze them, you would see that they are made of the exact same mineral content. If you date them, you see that they are the same age. This is a good analogy to describe how Jesus was begotten from the Father and not just a created being. There has never been a time in which the Father was without the Son. These two people are both God, timeless and infinite, and somehow Jesus was begotten. If that is confusing it’s because God is an infinite existence by nature and we as finite, created beings are incapable of fully comprehending an infinitely complex entity.

I would only add that God does want us to know Him. Though we may not fully understand, He does continue to reveal more and more of Himself as we seek. Like a husband and wife don't fully understand each other but it doesn't stop the relationship. So not fully understanding should keep us seeking Him.

Good analogy and answer panda, I think I understand what you’re saying. I have been researching this and the word begotten brings to mind he being born of the father but he wasn’t born he always was and has been just like the father. from what I understand by looking at the original Greek it could also mean parallel to the father as in equal yet separate, and of course part of or connected at the same time. The Father was before the Son that was begotten. There is only One True God, the Father. Jesus makes it very clear in John 17 :3. There is one Mediator between God and man, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. In Exodus 23:21-23, the Father is talking to Moses and tells him He is sending His Angel and to listen to him and follow him. God, the Father sent His Son. Michael means one like unto God. Only the Son is like God, no created angel can be. The SDA 1872 Fundamental Principles were changed in 1980 by an apostate leadership which changed the religion. The SDA never believed in a trinity God. That is the central doctrine of the Roman Catholic church and is Babylonian sungod worship.

The Bible definitely says who's going to be His remnant people, those that keep His commandments and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. There is gonna be saved people from other denominations because God is not going to hold something against someone for what they don't know but will judge by the heart.

Yes, they are. In the congregation I grew up in there were a few who had gone to jail rather than fight in WWII. My father was an elder and he told me that if a Witness joined the military it they were automatically disfellowshipped....they need not even be present for the judicial committee. (This was not the case with me as I had disassociated myself before I ended up joining the Navy) And yes, Jehovah's Witnesses still use their own version of the Bible called the New World Translation. It has MANY errors, changes, and omissions. 😬

I think you are referring to the idea that when the Bible mentions Arch-Angel Michael, it is believed that this is one of the names of the pre-carnation of Jesus in the Old Testament, which is a fascinating concept that JWs did not come up with on their own. There are many other religions that hold this teaching as well, but don't talk much about... because its not salvific. Remember the burning bush? It was called an Angel of God, but it was actually God (take off your shoes, Moses). Angel apparently just means "messenger". Arch means lead, head, greatest... Quite literally the word means "The greatest messenger who is as God." So, the Arch-Angel is the Head Messenger who is like God. I remember Jesus saying, "If you have seen me, you have seen the father." Interesting, huh? It gets better. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16 it says "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first." So the voice of the arch angel comes from God and raises the dead.. hmm, only God can raise the dead. Revelation 12:7 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels." So since Dragon is a symbolic name for the Devil (Satan), it could also be that Michael is a symbolic name for Jesus, and it's also interesting that this Arch-Angel "has" angels under him. Well, the phrase "Lord of hosts" appears 245 times in the Bible, and it refers to the "commander of God's angelic army." Jesus is that commander. Anyway, it's just an interesting theory, again not a salvation thing. It's a fun study!

I attend an Assemblies of God that is the largest Pentecostal denomination and we believe that the moment a believer dies, he or she goes to heaven. I know that the Adventist denomination believes in soul sleep because decades ago I took lessons through the mail. Very interesting but some of the beliefs the Adventist Church I do not agree in at all.

@@StrangeNormal Brad, I watch your videos a lot, and I'm studying with the Witnesses. I'd just like to address a couple of things as I'm sure you genuinely want the truth, but your guest here seems to be on a personal mission to discredit them. 1. They believe 'the meek will posess the earth' (Ps 37:11) They don't take any sort of stance that only JW's will gain everlasting life, but rather 'the one calling on the name of YHVH will be saved' (Joel 2:32) and that Jehovah God only has the responsibility of reading hearts and making judgement - the Governing Body also does not profess to be the 'only' conduit from God to the Earth. That was a false statement, and yes, as Geoffrey Jackson states, it WOULD be presumptuous. 2. Yes, it seems they don't have much detailed information about alien specific demonic deception - I guess they're more busy fulfilling Jesus' commission as at Mat 28:19, 20 and training Witnesses around the world to do this. I don't understand why you think they have to be 'misleading' people through their teachings.. for what gain? Their sole purpose is to proclaim Jehovah's Kingdom, Imitate Jesus and resist Satan's attacks. I say this as an unbiased individual searching for truth who has been to their meetings. I've been into many churches looking for the same and have never even come close to such a fulfilment of Jesus' words at John 13:34, 35. Yes, I know it's hard for people to reconcile with their Anti-Trinitarianism and so called 'shunning' (more about that principle at 1 Co 5:11-13). But they are trying their absoloute hardest to make deciples and have no part of this world. It really boggles me when people think they are in a position to make judgement, It's fundamentally un-Christlike (Matthew 7:3). Like you said, there will be sheep in every fold. 3. About Charles T. Russel - I don't know anything about the occultism that Eric alluded to in this video. I do know however that the Witnesses do not follow him as a prophet or messiah in the way Joseph Smith is revered; he just isn't talked about in that context. He never produced any works like the Judaic Talmud or divine plates or professed to be the body of Christ and make things up like you might find the Pope doing. Rather, he founded The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society which has gone on to publish a great many bible study aids.. tools to help liberate people from the shackles of false religion and gain a close, personal relationship with their Heavenly Father. None of the JW teachings are occultic. They don't even use the cross, so deep is their want to refrain from idolatry. 4. About 'changing their beliefs'. What Eric is referring to here is the scripture at Proverbs 4:18, which Witnesses take as a metaphor for spiritual truth being revealed. Nothing has changed drastically. All it means is that they don't twist the scriptures and make it fit to the mold they want it to. Unlike the Catholic Church, who decided something 1500 years ago and arrogantly stick to it without any biblical reasoning. However, being imperfect Humans coming out of the darkness of false religion, JW's realise the need to modify their understanding of the bible as the 'light' is revealed. They value truth much more than they do tradition - the fact they are famously known for not celebrating Christmas or any Pagan holidays is a perfect testament to this fact. It's overall very sad to see you doing this kind of hit piece on fellow Christians.. They are not the enemy (Ephesians 6:12). It's ironic that this video mentioned how we should be finding things out for ourselves. Well, I would encourage you to do that exact thing and go to one of their meetings. Anyway keep up the good work, the content you do on Aliens is awesome. Lots of Love, Your Brother
