Alex Clarke tightened his jaw as he entered the vxar flight simulator. The Arrogant alien Pilots would soon face their smug dismissal when the retired Navy fighter jock showed them real flying. Humanity's first contact with the advanced Aven vxar had led to this moment: a friendly flying competition with the future of human-vxar relations at stake. Earth had sent their very best. Alex assessed his competition as he strapped in. The vxar pilots preened, their feathers light and eyesight sharp, flying by the book, typical rookies. None more so than Varys, the vxar star pilot, who probably thought he was the second coming of Nemo with his icy Blues. "Prepare to be humiliated, human," Varys spat. "Your primitive flying is no match for vxar precision and Technology."
