So Massey DID know they were androids, as they LET the Marines keep their red eyes. What they didn't know, I guess, was that they wouldn't be proper bait for the aliens? Maybe because they weren't The Company, but a competitor, thus wouldn't likely know about Ash (as an example of how androids were the safest bet around the alien)?
