Realistic shooter? Uhh... what game have you been playing for the past, I don't know, 7 years? This game has ALWAYS had an arcade style to it, not realism. Just because the graphics try and make the game look realistic does not mean that's what the game is trying to portray. The funniest part about your comment is that you're probably just now coming to the realization that CoD is an arcade shooter when there was shit like Commando that let you survive 100 foot drops without a scratch back in MW2.

Black Ops 2 was the best Call of Duty that has been released so far, with league play, private matches and theatre mode it helped the Pro circuit grow exponentially. Ya pubs can some times be bull shit but thats the same in every COD, its hard to make a perfect game but i suggest anyone who disagrees goes and tries to make a better game themselves

Blast shield helps with the explosives pretty significantly. IEDs, unless you're right on top of them, never do anything but maybe put you in a one shot.
