You saw a lot of areas in this first video, it's kind of surreal as a guest puzzle contributor seeing both of my puzzles in the same video :p (my contributions are the idea for the water pillar at 13:58 although the dev did improve on my initial design, and the final Shrine puzzle at 33:46)

3:30 The purpose of that first environment is too tell you that the environment mirrors the Tetris pieces. That's why it's a 1:1 copy - I think the intention is to make you watch the environment more closely, priming you for the second puzzle with the grass.

A puzzle that doesn't give pain isn't a good dedicated puzzle game, unless it's for relaxation and stress-relief
@alansmithee4192 жыл бұрын
@@swordzanderson5352 That depends on two things, really: The player's experience with puzzle games (someone very experienced may find easy what another player would find very difficult), and why the puzzles are painful (is it because they're hard, or because they're unfair? - i.e. there isn't enough info in-game to solve it and you *have* to guess some things due to poor design)
@swordzanderson53522 жыл бұрын
@@alansmithee419 IMO, that's frustration. If even experienced puzzle players are frustrated by a puzzle, chances are the hints are way too obscure. Then again, if the game was meant to be INCREDIBLY challenging, there wouldn't be many hints at all. But all in all, yeah, I agree with you, it depends. But a puzzle game should never be afraid of giving a reasonable challenge to the player and trust that they can solve it.

You know something interesting I've just found? Taiji is the Japanese word for "Confrontation." I don't really know what we're "confronting" in this game. Is there going to be a sort of boss at the end of it all, does this game have some deep message, like grief or anxiety? This all looks pretty meditative, but perhaps it will pull back the veil at some point in some way... even so, I personally can't wait to see what you uncover throughout your playthrough of game. And yes, while I could get the game on Steam, that is also what I lack currently (besides, I prefer console games because for me, a controller is better for me to use than a keyboard. Don't get mad please.) I'll keep looking forward to your next episode of your playthrough of this enchanting game 'til it's done!
