Dell these days is quite unlike the Dell in the yesteryears. They have come up with a system called Support Assist that is a disguised planned obsolescence system. Think of it as a Trojan horse. It is introduced to keep your systems updated and working till the warranty period, and swiftly after the warranty expiry keeps introducing updates that lead to one or the other software malfunction. The warranty then offered for a year or two is close to the price of a new laptop; just slightly lesser perhaps. So, my two cents is to ignore the fancy lighting, packaging and other fancy stuff and go for a brand that provides you the not so fancy but a reliable and lasting product. I bought an Aurora last year and it is close to garbage. All the best folks!!

@CrypticHack3r3 жыл бұрын
Lee the H80i will not fit also if you change you cannot connect an aftermarket aio to the pump header since it will not recognize a non 4 pin pump on that header and bios will give you an error so you would need to connect a fan to the cpu fan header and the only ones that work are the Corsair ml120 pros. They run very hot and you will notice the fans speed up to about almost 50% which will be annoying and you would have to replace the fans for quieter ones so for the money you are paying for this no upgradeable system get yourself a pre build you can build yourself online for maximum airflow. I will be returning mine due to complications with aftermarket products and the fact they get so hot in my scenario my room gets hot from this PC exhausting so much hot air while gaming

Hi, I did this exact build, funny thing is, I don't get the bios error for the fans, but I suspect the pump is not getting any PWM, is the pump automatic? Does it stay on 91% all the time, or it there a temp sensor?
@naveen1774 Жыл бұрын
the pump is not pwm. its supposed to be running at 100% all the time. thats why there is a pump header for it. the top radiator fan is pwm though

Hey, so I need some advice. I bought a R12 but for whatever reason it can’t handle more than 16 GB of memory. I have two 8 gb memory sticks installed. Anymore than that and the computer won’t start up. The dell techs couldn’t figure out what’s wrong they thought it was the mother board and even with a new board same problem. Anyone have a fix?

Did you have a mechanical Hard drive? If so where did you re-locate it?
@CrypticHack3r3 жыл бұрын
So I didn’t relocate it I got rid of it and installed it on my other pc which i use for streaming. There isn’t a good relocation spot for the mechanical drive and this is outdated tech I bought the Samsung SSD and use that in its place

Great video thank you, two questions: Can you advise which bracket you used for the top front fan? I ask because I just ordered my R12 and didn’t get an HDD so trying to figure out how to secure the same front top fan you used. Also, does LED on front fans show through front of case? I ordered dark side of the moon chassis before realizing it’s missing two LED zones so if I can get more color with those fans that’s a nice bonus
@CrypticHack3r2 жыл бұрын
Can’t see led from front of case sorry. The bracket I used was the one from the top fan since I did not need due to push pull config. But you have to modify the bracket to make it fit where the HDD would normally go. Suggest you use 3M tape on fan to stick to area where HDD would go

i have an aurora r12 black with an rtx 3080 inside. the hdd is very slow and i would like to add an additional m.2 nvme ssd on the available PCI express x16 slot. my concern is whether it affects the cooling ability of my graphic card because its width is very large and after i add this module, half part of one of the fans only have about 2 centimeters of space to pull air to cool the gpu. any suggestion. i bought an input converter that converts m.2 to pci express x16 but its height profile is half the height of the gpu. so it blocks half of the one of the fans and the blocked area only have about 2 centimeter to catch air. i don't know if you get my point. if so, any suggestion would be appreciated. thanks

I know for sure you won’t be able to upgrade to AMD because the Intel CPU bracket is soldered to the MB I am not sure if you can also go into an i9 because it might be a different LGA socket

So I just bought the right heat sinks for my r12 now for the cooler I can’t find the Alienware one and dell doesn’t sell it separately so aftermarket will do. H60 or h80 v2? Also I bought 4 additional cooling fans for like 20$ that big 120 m one with the blue led is that any better than the cheaper ones I got I’m assuming it is since the rpms or cfm is higher I honestly didn’t even check what the ones I got are?
