I am going to have an ALIF and PLIF next month for L4-L5 fusion. I have been pretty nervous but am trying to be ok with and accept I WILL have pain after. Seeing some of your video's have been helpful. I will be off work for 3 months as well and am just going to take it day by day. I was a runner, but not looking to run again. I just want to be able to exercise, clean house, garden and live my everyday life. Thanks again.

Good luck with your procedure. I have been returning to many activities which is great!! Do you currently have nerve pain in either leg or weakness? Or is it mainly back pain?

Great to see you are feeling a little better every day! I think i need to try some meditation! I am at 6 weeks post op and my follow up appt with my surgeon is friday so i will let you know how it goes. Its really hard to tell if i am getting better but i have to think that i am. I am able to walk longer distances every day. Still being VERY careful. The time just seems to go very slow. I have not bent forward since last july so its going to be a long process to be able to retrain myself how to use my back muscles if and when my surgeon releases me for physical therapy. I honstly do not see myself getting back to work for at least 3 more months...but i sure hope sooner. VERY difficult time of my life that is for sure! Just worrying myself about failed fusion. Able to only take one pain killer at night...do you think that is good for 6 weeks? Thanks for the videos brother and take care!!

I think it’s awesome for 6 wks. I was off work for 3 months. Take your time!! Enjoy the time off as much as you can. U deserve it. Years later we will look back and be glad we didn’t rush anything.
