Align Trex 600E Pro

Haven't flown the 600 much at all yet but have decided to concentrate on my bigger electric heli's,The 600 is a lovely thing but its a lot of work 2 batteries to charge for one flight,she's a very stable heli but the fear factor when flying is immense and she makes some scary noises when those blades are spinning.I was planning on having 2 flights but the good old British weather put pay to that.so hear it is my first flight for a few months from start to the crappy landing at the end.

Hi Matt,I put the back battery over hanging the battery plate by roughly 1.5 inches this seems to give me a good balance I found this out by accident because if I do it any less the canopy will just not fit on and I do find the 600 can feel a bit tail heavy, what mah battery's are you using mine are Turnigy 3000mah I don't think I would go any bigger it's one heavy mother already.

Hi mate, ive got the trex 600 domin and always have probs finding the COG and i noticed you didnt do that at all, unless you have ur lipos mark out where to put them, is that something you have probs with? thanks for vid matt

Yes all my Heli's were bought as kits except the Trex 450 which was Rtf,I think that's why I end up buying more because I love the unboxing and building process,the 600 is amazingly complex with a geared tail drive and complex cyclic servo linkages, so she did take some building and some research.

Believe it or not they aren't that exspensive,the 500 uses 1 pack and the 600 2 wires in series to double the voltage so I already had the packs .

Yes nitro is exspensive I think we pay about £30 for 5 litres but I have no good local shops so have to purchase mine online and have to pay a £10 courier fee as well.is gasser a petrol helicopter?

yes a "Gasser" helicopter runs on petrol, with a additive mixed in that is available from hobby stores and online. Lovely Heli BTW!

I hadn't flown the 600 for a while and felt very nervous,I was being very careful with the throttle that big electric motor has lots of power that I'm not ready for yet Lol

Yes I've been meaning to do a DFC head conversion to it!! But it's a bit expensive to run!! 12s 2× 6s 4000mah lipo's it runs on!! To be honest every time I flew the thing it terrified me Lol

@@IansRCExploits Just noticed how old the video is! I am only an occasional heli flyer at the moment but this will change when they build around my field and I lose my 'overfly' space for the fixed wings but when that happens it will probably be helis and very small quads i come to rely on. My first experience of helis was a Copter X t rex 450 clone that i built myself. Apart from the odd hover with the training gear it was a disaster and had to be repaired virtually every flight out. I used to buy third party parts that were even cheaper than Copter X parts, tail booms and main gear spindles were particularly vulnerable. 10 years later i bought a blade 120s and then a 230s V2 and suddenly i was able to experience some success due mostly to the stabilisation of course. My mate warned me that heli flying is all about confidence and i still think he was right.

It's a massive Heli, runs on 12s!! Those Blades are massive and spin a a silly speed, they would easily Chop an arm off 🦴🦵

Hi Chuck, I'm sure it would be possible to convert the Nitro Trex 600 to electric!! But I'm my experience it would cost a fortune to buy all the seperate parts that you would need for the conversion, it would probably be a lot less expensive to try to buy a second hand Trex 600e 😀👍

I love nitro but the price per gallon is crazy $50 dollars canadian for 1 gallon, I really want a gasser but not much to choose from.

Hi Ian, I’m new to rc helicopters, I have picked up some second had helis, Mainly align helis, 2 of them are what you describe as the beast, one with a ranger body and the other with a bell 222, I’ve got loads of kit to sort thru yet. Can you still but spare for them? Got to figure out how to take the body off yet to check everything works and see how it’s wired, will try and post a video to my channel over the weekend

Hi Ian, thanks for the subscribe, I have a 800e dfc also but that needs parts, I have 2x500, one with a 5 blade head, a 470l that needs parts, plus a 200 that needs parts. Also a large amount of bits, such as couple of receivers, loads of lipos, some 2.4ghz jr propo receivers.

Do you mean Angular mode like you get on the Microbeast Pro? If you do then no the Trex 600E has a fly barred head so only needs a tail Gyro as the flybar makes the Heli stable!! If it was flybarless then it would need a Gyro for the head and tail 😄👍

In a way!! The flybar has paddles on it which act like a mechanical Gyro which helps to keep the Heli stable!! When you use a flybarless head the Gyro does the job for you😄👍

With the Trex's speed controller the throttle has to be set at mid position it wont arm until the throttle is brought down to the lowest position then the castle speed controller finishes set up,so it seems that I know exactly what I'm doing.
