In this episode I align the headlamps and front steering. I also clean and adjust the rear brakes, then go for a ride.

I grew up in 2 different Nova's. Granny's 77 250 I6 powerglide and my dads 78 305 with the rally rims. Dad later replaced the stock 305 with a HO L69 305 from a wrecked 80 something Iroc Z. I love those body style Novas.

On old school GMs, I never jacked the weight off the wheels to remove shims. Just loosen the nut/s until the pressure releases and take out whatever shims you need. Then retighten the nut. I also never had a machine sophisticated enough to tell me exactly what shims to add or remove. I had it down to a science on how much change would occur with X amount of shimming. Rarely ever had to make a second adjustment. Doing alignments on those cars with no A/C was actually kinda fun.

Good video. I do all the same stuff to keep my drum brakes from seizing to the hub, except not so thorough with the grinder to the mating surfaces, lol. I use a cresent file to take the ridge off the drum lip when no air tools are available.
