I agree that this is strengthening. Years back I used it every time I straightened my hair to avoid heat damage. It works well for that. I didn't like using super softening or overly moisturizing DC's when using a lot of heat

Thank you for another self care sunday. I haven't tried this mask. It's not in the stores I go to and i don't have money online. And the part where you said your cat was picky about her water bc it had food in it was hilarious. My cat is the same which is why I try to keep open catainers aways from him since he has taken sips of my water or soda or juice anything I have.

I actually don’t think I’ve ever seen this one in stores, just the Honey & Sage. It’s funny because Elle never really bothers my drinks but that night she was just fed up 🤣🤣 There’s never a dull moment when you have cats lol!

I’ve tried both of the dcs from Alikay... I agree that the honey and sage is the better of the two. The honey/sage dc has better slip and and is waaay more moisturizing than the avocado. The avocado dc is actually the ONE product from alikay i didn’t like. The slip was okay, the smell I could get used to. But hair felt like straw when I rinsed it out. I was so disappointed I gave the rest away. I love the close ups!!! Keep them coming! Good texture shots are a good peak into a product before buying!

The avocado feels more like a protein treatment which really just throws me off. So honey & sage will be my go to. And I’m happy the product shots are helpful! You know I’m all about the details 💗

Another good product review, and food review. Happy to hear you are a young woman of action, keep sharing.🥰 I like most Alikay Natural products and currently use this particular DC as a pre-poo. In the future, will have to try this DC after I shampoo. Honey & Sage is my all-time favorite Alikay DC and the Lemon Leave-In one of my favorites. I recently stocked up on all the Alikay products (16 oz. sizes!) and just added their shampoos to my collection. 😊

About activism I've learned the hard the way after a near decade of fighting against gentrification. I haven't given up but I feel like I've been volunteering my time and effort with minimal success. Social media psuedo-activism has made me extra bitter in that regard. But anyway I love the lemongrass leave in form Alikay, her Shea Yogurt is amazing for my skin rather than hair funnily enough.

I completely feel where you’re coming from. It’s hard now that activism has become a trend as opposed to a state of being. There’s so much work that could be done, but we also have to take care of ourselves too. And I actually know quite a few people who use the Shea Yogurt for their skin. Usually if I have a hair butter that’s too thick I just use it on my body 🤣

I think it would be a good alternative to an actual protein treatment if you need a good boost. It also penetrates very well which is a plus for low porosity hair. It definitely has potential, I just have things that perform better. Tfw 💕

This DC was a fail for me. I tried the Honey & Sage one as well ... fail. I went out on a limb and tried a lot of Alikay Naturals products... most of them were fails for me except the black soap shampoo and the knots be gone degangler. I love the owner though ! She's one of my fave natural hair brand owners.

The Third Eye Angel right ! She really is. That's why I'll support whenever I can. Definitely try the black soap shampoo! Soooo moisturizing. But I recommend only washing once. One time is enough. I learned my lesson when I washed my hair with it twice in one setting lol

I know I use this before but I dont remember all I know it was never repurchase and don't plan to. I don't like eating out unless I have to because I forgot food and most of the time I'm definately not indulging in fast food. I tried chick fila once couple years ago and it was bland/gross to me, people said I have to use the sauce. I only would eat biscuit and fries at popeyes. I'm glad they sold out of sandwhich because people were acting crazy over it for no reason. Like fighting workers and tryna sell sandwiches for higher price like whaat?. But albeitly the memes were funny. I watched power but I forgot to record so I was on my lil bootleg site and thought something was up until I saw the trending on twitter. Changing the theme song in last season is dumb when it was just a vital part of show's intro. I absolutely despise online activism because most people are all talk for likes and rts. They never actually do anything. Like black/shea butter twitter users are hypocrites with activism and irks my nerves. Activism is not something I talk/speech about because it's not for me and I'm not a activist.

Yeah this one definitely isn’t anything special. I feel so far removed from the things that get hyped in the media. People are really out here doing anything for a chicken sandwich 🤣 I’m a lover of memes but all the other messy stuff is just not my cup of tea. And I agree, there is a lot of hypocrisy with a good portion of social media activism and it just creates more work truthfully. Activism ain’t for everybody so I totally understand!
