I've seen umpteen dancers do this variation but Alinas sheer playfulness is hard to beat.

Love her charming fluid use of her upper body without it affecting her balance or technique.

That's a very personal opinion and I am not an expert in ballet at all.. But I personally consider this execution of the pas de deux the best I have ever seen. I find Alina divine in every part she dances.. My personal favourite!

this is the better version I've seen, because she fits the music perfectly and I can see how coreography flows through the music. Other dancers made it meaningless...
A few things a tad off but overall I really like her dancing this as she has just the right lighthearted spirit for it. Some others may get all the t's crossed and i's dotted technically but Alina has what this Pas really takes to be a show stopper- stage presence! And that can not be taught or coached into a dancer. One must be born with it.

Wow, she is my favorite dancer of all time, but she can barely keep up with this music (and the tempo seems comparatively slow)! I have a DVD with Patty McBride dancing this, and another one with brief sections of Violette Verdy and Melissa Hayden dancing it, and the difference is clear.
her musicality and supremely tidy technique are mesmerizing.

watch this and do your best. also watch paloma's version. if you can find suzzane farrell's version watch that. on the echape develope the shoulders move with the leg. so shoulder back on echape shoulder forward on develope. hold the last one bring down slow. do not pause on gagliardgo straight through with the posse's . the chugs back are slightly faster then the music . it is all very syncopated. play games with the music but never get off the music.

Flailing arms! They look like they feel fabulous to her, but remind me of why teachers always say that arms must go through "the gateway" Marianela's variation is beyond perfect in both the art and the science. You can't compare it to this.

The replay button must've called the police by now. Because i've been raping it in the last few days. My god, how do i even Forget Miss Cojocaru's perfection? The perfect rendition, fast and Sharp without looking rushed or slopppy (unlike the NYCB gymnasts!).

'look, I can hit my ear three times in a row'; the first one should be less high so that there is some reason for the sequence. This is nowhere NEAR the level of Merrill Ashley, Kyra Nichols, or any other great NYCB dancer--to say nothing of Verdy, Hayden, and McBride.

I have seen this variation performed better by at least ten past and present NYCB ballerinas, not to mention Anianashvili, Murphy, Wiles...The tempo is slow and Cojocaru is STILL off the music; the ridiculous nightgown for a costume does not help (no one wears a Juliet nightgown for this role); and she accommodates her inadeqaute technique frequently, not just in the backward hopping arabesques. the echappe/developpe sequence is supposed to GROW, not be an exhibiton of
