This olympic is 2004 obviously it's very different from the 2016 or 2020 RG olympic with all the criteria of elements and rules are changed and all about that clean routine with less elements. Here kabaeva has a lot of elements, they judge cause her routine is mostly dance with risky elements hence RG criteria was changed to less elements but clean routine and apparatus difficulty to boost your scores

This routine has several problems, mas the composition is not one. Back in time body difficulties were more important than apparatus difficulties, that would be more Relevant for the artistic score. This routine has so many mistakes and it’s sad that kabaeva got her gold medal after such bad routine. Far from the excellence from 2000

That would be Zhenya Kanaevs, actually. 2 time Olympic champion and never missed a podium place, meaning Alina Kabaeva doesn’t surpass Zhenya as queen of rhythmic gymnastics. Also her ribbon here was sloppy-dead ribbon at times dragging the floor and the seamless flow between choreo, apparatus and body difficulty wasn’t as smooth and seem;ess as Zhenya and other champions. Hers was quite choppy going from one thing to the next chaotically at times. She needed to work more on cleaning up the rough edges,execution, and connecting all of her elements, connecting choreo/dance, musical interpretation, artistry, and construction of her routines to work better together-seemless, silk, expressive, dynamic with clean execution that makes her routines look effortless even though they aren’t; delicate when the music and theme called for it, or fierce, bold and electric, or sassy and sultry….just better presented to show a clear link between the music and performance. To do it in a manner that looks effortless and skillfully executed rather than choppy, sloppy, rushed and chaotic. She was extremely talented, but wasn’t always the best at integrating all elements and aspects of the program with effortless flow and precision; a collection of difficult but not always well controlled elements crammed into the program in a way that took away from the performance. That is where Zhenya, Yana and Rita excelled when at their best, giving a complete performance with stunning execution making the elements difficult and beautiful at the same time. Zhenya really was in a class of her own in terms of success.
