In order to get that pinch harmonic he does you place your index finger over the fret that’s being played and then behind your index finger on the same string you use your thumb to pluck the string. You can use your middle finger which I think he does cause it allows him to continue to play the bass notes. There are a couple of ways to play those harmonics. The natural harmonic on frets 5, 7, 12, and 20. Or artificial harmonics when you fret on the third and then using the same technique you pinch on the sixteenth with your left hand. FYI place your index over the metal strips.
