Alisi Telengut and Baigal Nuur - Lake Baikal at Sundance 2024

The formation of Lake Baikal in Siberia is reimagined through the short film of Alisi Telengut. Premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, Baigal Nuur - Lake Baikal features the voice of a Buryat woman who can still recall some words in her endangered Buryat language (a Mongolian dialect).
We asked Alisi Telengut to share her story and the challenges and rewards in creating her short film.
