Oh, and speaking of movies shot in LA, take a look at Harold Lloyd's overlooked "Girl Shy." It culminates in a thrilling prolonged multi-modal chase throughout town in 1924 - you even see Harold atop a Pacific Electric streetcar! Well worth a look.
