Setting the scene is just as important as playing it. Otherwise you tend to have narrative whiplash. There is a grand battle between 2 fleets of starships, everything is chaotic, alarms blaring, explosions, orders being yelled, screaming from the injured, and the commander of a ship is an important character. The ship is heavily damaged and the reactor has been hit, going critical in 75 seconds. The commander turns to his second in command. "Send orders to the drive operators, ramming speed. Send the message to main command, 'we'll see you on the other side.' include the wills and roster of the crew." Then the scene jump cuts to a pub on the home base where the protagonist is laughing and drinking with another important character celebrating a seperate successful mission. Both events were at the same chronological time, so they were spliced for narrative timing. It went from intense, painful, and sorrowful to jovial and exuberant. Even the most dense watcher would get a broken neck from the narrative shock, so we don't have situations that extreme, but the concept is there. My description of the battle is exactly the type of preparation the opening chords entails, allowing you to dive into the scene quickly and for the impact of the event to hit you.

It's not inherently R rated (you have to be 13 or older to use it lol) and overall it's not too terrible. There are so super sweet people and communities out there (I actually met three of my best friends on there!!), and some not so good toxic places. It really depends.
