there's a bit of an error in this. The girl Hyde (Diana) attacks, is actually supposed to be Lucy who's played by Nadroj, not Diane (who plays Jekyll). I didn't know I was gonna make the whole musical at the time, so yea. Replace Diane with Nadroj lol

Setting the scene is just as important as playing it. Otherwise you tend to have narrative whiplash. There is a grand battle between 2 fleets of starships, everything is chaotic, alarms blaring, explosions, orders being yelled, screaming from the injured, and the commander of a ship is an important character. The ship is heavily damaged and the reactor has been hit, going critical in 75 seconds. The commander turns to his second in command. "Send orders to the drive operators, ramming speed. Send the message to main command, 'we'll see you on the other side.' include the wills and roster of the crew." Then the scene jump cuts to a pub on the home base where the protagonist is laughing and drinking with another important character celebrating a seperate successful mission. Both events were at the same chronological time, so they were spliced for narrative timing. It went from intense, painful, and sorrowful to jovial and exuberant. Even the most dense watcher would get a broken neck from the narrative shock, so we don't have situations that extreme, but the concept is there. My description of the battle is exactly the type of preparation the opening chords entails, allowing you to dive into the scene quickly and for the impact of the event to hit you.

So I do have one nitpick about your art literally one and it's a sticking point for me so I claim pure prejudice here. You're doing that anime thing where profile heads are being drawn with a 3/4ths mouth. I hate this. Like it's the one thing I venomously hate about the beautiful anime aesthetic because no joke it's to me one the single, ugliest things you could ever do to your characters. I know why it's done; economic development in animation is essential and ya gotta smudge reality at times but it isn't like say keeping Mikey's ears side by side and visible no matter what position his head is because that gives him an always recognizable silhouette which helps sell the character. This is just gross to me but yeah it's fine I'll live with it cause its easier than fucking making the chin move. A static head with a moving mouth is something I encourage even if I hate the profile. Sure my solution to this would be an old theater rule we were taught: never speak in profile but at 3/4ths angle but nobody asks me anything. But to get back on topic while I can live with this in animation this is not technically movement. There's in my opinion no justifiable reasoning to do the profile mouth thing here. I don't hate you even a little bit this is great and I'll be damned before I say the word "lazy" to describe this but this is a massive petpeeve of mine and so I feel the need to being it up.
