A PR (Pull Request) happens when a developer wants to add their changes to the main branch. They are requesting the main branch to pull their changes in. When you make a PR, the team reviews it, you do automated tests, etc, then if everything goes smoothly, it gets merged in.

Totally agree that quality has bogged down menus, and is extremely fiddily to request. Hoping we get a hotkey to tick an entity's quality up/down for quick convenience.

Holding shift + alt while scrolling cycles the held item quality

I think using up and down makes the most sense to me - be that arrow keys or just w and s. I find alt a difficult key to use and ctrl+alt is quite clunky. And when you're in a menu, up and down aren't really doing anything else. I'd also quite like to just set the whole menu and for it to stay at a particular quality, as it gets annoying to change it every single time.

Fully agree that there should be a short tutorial that you can hand-recycle when you first arrive on Fulgora! I would never have guessed it, if I had not seen it somewhere on youtube.

I remember at the lan running around mining the buildings and scrap with my inventory filling up, then looking at the tech tree and it seeming like it was giving me an impossible task - build a recycler to recycle scrap, even though you've not got any of these ingredients because you need a recycler to recycle the scrap :/. I only figured it out looking in the factoriopedia.
@muche6321Ай бұрын
They may have added it later, but there is a "Scrap recycling" recipe in the Recycling technology. One way to find out you can do it manually is look at the recipe in the tech tree and figure out that as it doesn't mention some limitation like "Made in Assembling machine", you can do it as well. Other way is to follow the "new" notification in the craft menu and see it has a number of available crafts next to it. And factoriopedia.

Switching Quality on menus etc.: Shift+Alt+Mousewheel
@theral0562 ай бұрын
THANK YOU! Oh god this is already really useful. Now I want to be able to just mouse over anything in the UI to switch it's quality like this, including in combinators and stuff.

I agree somewhat with that the quality settings are a bit strange. I use quality a lot (way more than I should as it slows my progress a lot, but I dont stress 😅), and what I find strange is that I have tried to use requests for space to get stuff of uncommon or better (solar panels, turrets etc) it does not bring me anything, even if I have several uncommon an usually a few rare items. So instead all requests need to be seperate, uncommon and rare of this and that. But that is just a minor issue, generally I love the expansion. Spent most of last night on Gleba 😂
@trismugistusАй бұрын
Yeah, the way it treats quality as completely separate things is kinda annoying, tbh. They seem to stack to exactly the same sizes, so it should really count them all together. Gleba seems to be quite a divisive planet - some people seem to love it and others hate it.

I actually found a bug in space age, submitted it to the forum, and now it is assigned to kovarex to fix. No crashing bug though… i've never had factorio crash actually, and I've always been using the experimental version…

Currently, I am still using 2.0.7 because I want to be able to watch the replay, but yeah, regarding the number of bugfixes in every single patch I want to delete my replay and download the latest version. (I won't watch it anyway 😅)

I wish there was a setting on assemblers that it takes *any* quality… if it happens to be quality ingredient, we get quality items, if it is mixed, well then the lowest quality 'survives', etc… Then quality items do not clog up/pollute belts basically…
@peterschmidt19002 ай бұрын
Still won't work. Imagine the recipe needs 10 steel. Then imagine there are 8 normal steel on the belt, which the inserter picks up. Followed by 20 rate steel which the inserter can't pick up because there is already normal steel in the machine.
@sghuisman2 ай бұрын
@@peterschmidt1900 In that case it would insert a mix… 8 normal + 2 rare… and the final quality is just normal.
@trismugistus2 ай бұрын
Interesting, though I'm not sure I'd want to accidentally lose my legendary intermediates because I set the recipe wrong on one machine.
@trismugistus2 ай бұрын
It would make the item listing in the machine quite complex, as it'd need to be able to show the case where every item was of different quality. So on something like a rocket silo you'd end up with 25 item slots. Unless you're proposing the item gets downgraded once it's in the machine? I do thing a "downgrader" might be something a mod could add, so you could programme your system to downgrade quality items if you're only missing a few items of a certain level to build something.
