Fear of Happiness: Why we are afraid of happiness: the contradiction

Aversion to happiness, also called cherophobia and fear of happiness:
Although we might think in our minds that we want to be happy, and maybe do our very best to be happy, underneath the surface we are terrified of true happiness.Do you know why we are afraid to be happy, to be truly and totally happy?Because we are conditioned to look for happiness outside of ourselves, in creating success, in finding the right partner, in being accepted by others etc etc.And because we actually believe that all those things outside of ourselves will eventually bring us happiness inside of ourselves,
We automatically create a fear that we might not reach those things and stay miserable for the rest of our lives, or if we reach those things that we might loose them again and be miserable again.Because of this unconscious contradicting relationship with happiness, we might sabotage ourselves, when we reach a so called external happiness goal.For example...
