Fantastic documentary! Surprised though to see no mention at all of the effects of nationalisation (of cinema) and the exodus of many technicians, filmmakers, writers, as well as actors and actresses during precisely the 1960s.

A wonderful documentary. Thank you. Goodness me just look at how things are now. The Cultural Centre of the Arab world has fallen into a black hole, a huge void exists. This disintegration also reflects what's happening world-wide. I do hope things turnaround. Ironically, in the West a lot of hot air is huffed and puffed around, but the impact is poor. We no longer have the passionate Educators....the original poets, the open-mindedness, the movements. In short, brilliant originality and creative expression has stalled. I pray for change. said, written

I hope to enlist more videos about Arab's 70s ,80s , 90s and ending up with Arab 2000 until arab spring in 2010 The current generation is facing a war from their system to hide the reality of their history and being misleading by TV program or state-run newspaper etc,, This list will be more well-informed , unprecedented and will be a reference for many writers.

Why wars? Why atrocities? The Arab could have a great and prosperous future after the 60s.

To answer your questions Arabs and Africans hates wars. It’s not like we love being bombed and killed. Ppl love education, fashion, politics, religion etc. The uk/us/France controls the world and they’re behind every war. it’s all about the resources. Europeans wants to benefits out of our resources. Europe is poor and they made they’re money from Africa and the Middle East and South America.

so were the germanic tribes that invaded britain and france, but you wouldn't question their native origin, would you? Because going with your logic we are all just invaders, not only the arabs

The whole world is built on conquest. The mainstream theory is that Arabs came from Arabia (some people say they came from the Levant then settled in Arabia), but many other countries were Arabised. Just like many countries were Latinised and like how many countries invaded by Germanic tribes.

It is exactly people like you who ended the Islamic Golden Age and the prosperous Artistic Arab world of the 20th century. Every caliph in the Islamic Caliphates had their own musicians, music was used in hospitals for music therapy to treat all kinds of ailments, music was used to accompany poetry, Medina, Baghdad, Córdoba had some of the biggest music schools in the world, Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid compiled with Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani a book called Kitab al-Aghani that is more than 10 000 pages and compiled music and poetry from pre-Islamic Arabia to the whole Islamicate World in the 10th century. Ziryab changed the course of Andalusi music as we know it and influenced the East and the West. The Arab oud and maghreb rebab derived the Eruopean lute and rebec. Saif al-Din al-Urmawi was spared by the Mongols when they sacked Baghdad because they adored his music. And more and music continued to flourish insanely up until the mid 20th century in the Islamicate World - which had a much greater respect for art, science and music.
