We supported them in their efforts with air strikes because Gaddafi had been supplying terrorists both in the west and elsewhere for decades. Furthermore, he only turned to Pan-Africanism (which he interpreted as the murderous example of Idi Amin) when he was overlooked by his Baathist and Pan-Arabist dictator friends. Do you think that someone who called Condezzla Rice (an American) an "African princess" really identifies with African unity? I have nothing against Pan-Africanism and I applaud organisations like the AU and the East African Community.
