I'm still unsure about Dr Ratio and Screwllum's interaction at the end. So what was it really? Was he the one who planted the phase flame? Did he allow Ifrit to incite the whole incident only for him to swoop in at the opportune time? I still don't understand.

I was confused too but I think Screwllum calling Dr Ratio a third party and saying that he made the same decision as Ratio to accompany and observe in the cutscene suggests to me that Dr Ratio knew all along and just sat back until the right time. Dr Ratio also describes himself as intervening in Duke Inferno's teleportation which wouldn't make sense if he planted the phase flame

The entire scenario of people getting kidnapped was Dr. Ratio's doing. He did it to highlight a weakness in the ship's system. Ifrit had nothing to do with anything, Dr. Ratio framed him. It was a test set by Dr. Ratio to test the intelligence of the people on the ship, in the end only Screwllum figured out that Ratio was behind everything. Dr. Ratio's goal was to show that "geniuses" are worshiped by average people to the point that it discourages the average person to want to improve themselves, which is something he hates. He said it himself, only when someone has no hope of help can they rely on themselves. He hates fools, idiots and imbeciles and he wants to eradicate foolishness from the universe. And he's sexy 10/10 top tier character, would totally suck that dick

Don't know but he definitely has the intentions because he said something about his goal being to make the space station people distrustful of genius society members and the flame targetted people doing just that. Taking Asta away was def his plan there though.

he wasnt the one who staged the whole duke inferno thing but he did swoop in to save the researchers from being telepprted to duke inferno becaus ehe obviously would have killed em. as for why he didnt do this sooner, he probably didnt know the location of the original phase flame and thought this would be a good wake up call for the researchers at the station.

Each time a new character introduced to Honkai Star Rail, I cannot help but started having sus with them. Like for example, I thought that Kafka and the rest of Stellaron Hunters are evil but no. I mean, they're just following Elio's manuscripts. Luocha, on the other hand, is the biggest surprised for me. Maybe because I'm a newbie to the the Honkai series. Upon learning about his true agenda, I cannot help but I have the same feeling when I encountered Oberon of FGO. Now that Dr. Ratio did something shady at the end of the story, I started hating him and when I saw him as the new visitor of the Astral Express, can't help but to say "No, go away"! On the side note, I'll grind him to make him as another farmer in the future. 🤣

Why do you hate him though? He just wants people to stop blindly following the geniuses, and actually think for themselves. Plus, he saved those researches by intervening in the attack.
