Kaiju No 8 is probably the best manga to come out in a while. It's pretty much World Trigger but they're mostly adults and fights monster. Kaiju No 8 reminds me of Kurama cloak meets One Punch Man not powerful but strong enough to hold its own. The fight scenes are epic, the enemy is a real threat, the action is much more impactful and world building though minute is still existent. You really feel that sense of danger reading this manga. Something we haven't seen in a while.

ehh read it since chapter 1 released, it incredibly generic with awful pacing, number 9 has been an awful uninteresting villan for a while, world building has been almost non existent so far and there's been too much flashback for characters people don't care about. sure the first 40-50 chapters or so are great but eversince the monster invasion it's been non stop slog there's better mangas released in the 2020's.

You missed a few key parts, first being that it is implied that no 9 is old, having been around since before even no 1 but keeping a low profile and going undiscovered until recently. Second was on the note of compatibility, while no 9 is compatible with everyone and everything the same isn't true of other Kaiju. Compatibility determines combat potential, whether one can use a numbered weapon, or even if one can fuse with a particular host and as seen with number 2 and 6 not just any host will do. Which is why Kaiju number 8 chose Kafka, he was compatible. Arguably this is also why 9 is targeting who he is during the invasion, because he fears that 8 may have become compatible with them through Kafka. They're are currently 3 ways compatibility has worked that we've seen, the first is with the suits, the second is with 8 where the Kaiju rises with the host and becomes subservient, then there is with 9 where the Kaiju and host combine but the Kaiju stays in control.

(Just my stupid theory) I think Kafka can only achieve 2% combat power of the combat suit. Because for Kaiju's fortitude level is measured upto only 10.0 (it can also be considered as 100% as combat suits of Defence Force) So Kaiju's combat power is 98%, which lacks only 2%, which will be achieved by Kafka and make them complete.
