You’re right about the MK11 Acid Fatality. If Reptile just kept on spewing acid into his opponent, it could have created a pretty cool fatality.

Back in the 90’s when I was but a wee lad, Mortal Kombat was this mystical taboo series I was not allowed to really experience. I would hear stories from it at school though. One kid described Reptile’s fatality, who one where he eats your head. Just the description alone was enough to give me a recurring nightmare of a reptilian creature coming to eat my head.

It's a shame Reptile seems to be nothing more than the MK punching bag in the games now, but I always enjoyed some of his fatalities. I always liked face chew from MK4, I never thought it would of fit Mileena more but I guess I can see that now. I also forgot about his fatalities where he vomits acid on the opponent. That was a good one in MK4, especially showing the skinned skeleton afterwards. Reptile seems to be one of the rare characters to have two good fatalities in that game IMO. Always liked him eating the person's head too. Even though I like all of those, I agree with #1 too. Putting an acid bubble in their belly and blowing their torso off was a great touch. This video reminded me how good Reptiles fatalities were, so I enjoyed this acid trip. Please give me Kitana, Mileena, or Jade next now! lol.

I reckon Reptile's Face Chew MK4 fatality was one of the easiest to remember and execute: Hold all attack buttons, move close, press up. I still remember it.

Finally someone have the same taste of Reptile design from Shaolin Monks. That design made me love Reptile, it stands between Reptilian and human form which is perfectly balanced. I'm glad that costume made it to Armageddon, too bad we'll never see it again.

I think the two lowest ones are kind of cool They give off the vibe of a Raging Demon type move where you have no idea what he’s doing but the end result is awesome Maybe it’s just me but not knowing how he explodes their upper body is so badass

Respectfully, I have to disagree on that triple chomp from Ultimate MK 3. I hated the way his face and cheeks stretched to almost his height across the screen to swallow, and having the arms still suspended after the upper torso was eaten was so annoying (Graphical limits, I know, but still) Not to mention the continued screaming even without lungs! :-) LOVED the remake head chomp, though... Seeing him pause for just a second to swallow the head whole and seeing his neck swell was a perfect little touch! Ahhh, the Klassic Armory trick! Loved how the head went *Crunch!* when he bites down and that "Mmmmm!" was just so perfect!

Here’s my Reptile finishers rankings. Always liked Reptile. He’s pretty cool with a unique move set 1. Tasty Meal (V) • I love this one. It’s quick, klassic, and brutal, just the way I like them. And it’s one of, if not the most unique decapitations in the series. Also it reveals that Reptile is indeed more than just some guy #neverhuman 2. Acid Puke (MK3) • This is so cool and threw me off guard. It’s so sudden and brutal. I love it. 3. Acid Bath (MKX) • This one is really good. Really really good. But…I HATE the hand twitching at the end lol. I really wish the entire body dissolved. 4. Weight Loss (MK9) • This one, though a bit extra, I do like. The use of the acid ball was a stand out 5. Inviso-Slice (V) • This is fine. Basic but I like it. Would work better as a brutality though. 6. Acidic Meal (MKDA) • This is good. I have no problems with it 7. Bad Breath (MKX) • This one is bad. Starts good but ends in a whimper. 8. Acid Yak (MK9) • This was really boring. I just don’t get it.Why not have the opponent melt from the inside? They had Smoke boil his opponent from the inside. 9. Extra Meal (MK3) • This is dumb. And why is the opponent screaming still lol. 10. Acid Puke (MK4) • this just looks silly. Why is Reptile flying? 11. Face Chew (MK4) • Feels like a Mileena fatality. 12. Claw Frenzy (MKSM) • This also feels like Mileena.

I don't know if it was mentioned or not but there's a lore reason as to why Reptile looks more reptilian in later games. He starts to lose control of his true self over his homeworld being destroyed (plus him supposedly being the only survivor) during the war that leads into MK4/MK Gold. He eventually regains control of himself and returns to his more human looking self when he learns that there is one other survivor from Zaterra. This other survivor would be Khameleon.

Reptile is one of the most tragic and sympathy Characters in the Franchise,all he wnts it to revived his Species but the Emperor,Sorcerer,and the Writers of the Franchise doesn't explore this opportunity,either way his a Fan Favorite and one of the reasons why the Ninjas are the best,his Story,Acid,Invisibility,Tounge,and Evolution makes him a interesting Character and all of his Fatalities are really Great and Underrated,I truly hope and pray that Zcisar and the Saurians/Zetterans return in the next Game or in a Remake of the first Games,also have you seen the Character Design in the Support Cards in MK Mobile,he looks awesome and we could have had him in MK11 but I guess we just have to wait and see.

It is tragic but I honestly don’t think they ever will explore that further simply because it makes Reptile so much less unique. Although I think one way to prevent that would be to introduce lots of different species within the Saurians. Like you can have Chameleon represent a different species of mimic based Saurians. Then have a another species of hulking, crocodilian Saurians. Perhaps even a more human like version of the Saurians that basically appear human aside from reptilian eyes as a reference to reptiles original design. They can be depicted as more civilized ambassadors to other realms. Honestly just make Reptile king of Zaterra, give my mans his respect lol

4:33 This fatality is basically just his boss fatality from Shaolin Monks but with an unnecessary extra step. We don't even get to really see the victim burn from inside out in either fatality, as in Shaolin Monks the camera pans to Reptile once his opponent falls to the ground and when it pans back we just see their skeleton. For a recreation it would've been nice to have seen the melted flesh slowly peeling off from the skeleton as a result of the corrosion, and the opponent violently throwing up trying to expel the acid from their system, but they ultimately collapse to the floor in a state looking like they had been dumped in the Dead Pool. Really a missed opportunity that would've made an otherwise sub-par finisher into something truly amazing.

The reason the MK3 fatality was so dope to me because they showed reptile was a man of class. He ate every part of the body but the left the feet whole lol he won’t stoop down to that level

Hi Nick, I have always liked Reptile and was a little disappointed when Eron Black was using his acid in MK 11. It clearly ment he wasn't to be in the game. Still maybe he will be in MK 12. I enjoyed this list. Not sure which is my favourite but I do like your top pick. Keep up the good work.

There is still one more og MK1 character you haven't covered. Goro. He doesn't have many fatalaties as a playable character but they do exist. Maybe you can do a Boss character episode (characters like Shao Kahn, Goro, Motaro ect.) since they probably don't have enough finishers to give each of them an episode.

I don’t know if this is unpopular, but I prefer lizard-man Reptile(MK4, MKSM, MK9, MKX). Those are his best designs. “Human” Reptile is boring. I just see green Sub-Zero. That said, I believe klassic skins should have the human skin on him. Then there’s full lizard Reptile. I like it better than “human”, but the cool thing about Reptile isn’t that he’s a lizard. He’s a lizard-man that knows martial arts. This design just doesn’t convey that to me. And while I prefer no tail, I do think it can work. Look at what they did with Alien. But Reptile doesn’t need one. He already has one of the most unique and versatile move sets in the series. Lizard-man Reptile ftw

I love ed boon and the team, but man, they sure did massacre my boy. He was a badass from the second he appeared in MK1, mysterious and deadly.
