Both Herald of the Sun and Lightsmith are amazing for holy. I get vibes that herald allows for more HoT gameplay and Lightsmith reminds me more of a discipline priest style gameplay. VERY cool having Paladin branch out more like this.

Sounds like in the choices given for Paladin, there will be preferred specs for each her talent. Where holy chooses Herald, ret chooses Templar and prot chooses lightsmith for maximum efficiency

I think this been my issue with alot of the hero specs, especially on the healing side, alot of them just lack any interesting visuals or lack visual impact/feedback.

Lightsmith should literally put droppable action button weapons/armor on the ground. It would change the entire game, and be completely unique to the hero spec. Sad they wasted this.
