I’m a DBD mobile main. And to be honest, I understand how you have a hard time using those killers. Which is funny since I use Trickster, Doctor, Oni, Legion, Wraith and Cenobite. Cenobite is my main and is kinda hard to learn but takes a small amount of time.

It's funny with Huntress because whenever you feel like you are doing pretty well, a good survivor shows you what you still need to improve. It becomes rare the better you get, but there is always something. I'd say I'm above average when I play well, but I still get destroyed sometimes and notice how much better I could do. Or how well great Huntresses play. Awesome killer design imo

As a Trapper main... yeah, "easy to learn, extremely difficult to master" definitely sums him up very well. I personally find him a lot easier than some characters who were ranked below him, but that's largely because I have an easier time with memorizing maps and planning strategies than I do with the hand-eye coordination required to play a lot of other killers. His playstyle just meshes better with how my brain is wired.

Pinhead is far more worthy of the difficulty hate-train than Nurse gets at this point, combined with needing the maneuverability/monitoring akin to Billy and Twins. Which is why I really hope people will have an open mind to the Knight's issues! A lot of ambition has gone into his concept and he's a killer people have always wanted in-game. His power can be polished up pretty easy I think.
@AZHYMOVS
@AZHYMOVS Жыл бұрын
I agree, the concept is super cool but it 100% needs polishing
@adrioumario1369
@adrioumario1369 Жыл бұрын
I might be the only one, but i believe that Pinhead would belong more in the "It's going to take a lot of dedication " tier since, even if he is hard, you do not need to always locate the box when starting the game and even if using his chains is tricky, if you aim right, you will mostly succeed into chaining the Survivor. I feel like people say Pinhead is hard because using his chains is a difficult concept to handle, but once you understood, it becomes easier to play him. ( Precision : I mained Myers, Nemesis and Pinhead. I let Nemesis down since his power is mostly based on RNG and i continued playing Myers and Pinhead because their power was fun to me. Today, i still play pinhead from time to time but i mostly play Myers or the killers on wich i have rituals to do. )
@carkpop
@carkpop Жыл бұрын
@@adrioumario1369 I mean, we're talking about "mastering", so to me on Pinhead, mastering is identifying the box spawn in the beginning of the game, even without Lethal persuer sometimes. Being able to identify the next spawn of the box, just based on Auras & scream bubbles consistently. Even with hundreds of hours now on Pinhead, I'm still not 100% perfect. I think I get the spawn correct 85% of the time? And that's usually helped with BBQ showing me where Survivors are running. Just that alone would put him in the "Dedication" category because that's learning the box spawns on all 40+ maps(?I think it's around 40?), and how survivors move to the box to prevent chain hunts. BUT on top of that, you also have to master his power, which is basically Nurse's power with less payoff, and positioning where the RNG chains will spawn. Idk, I main pinhead because I feel he's the only killer I still have so much to learn after so many hours. I feel like I can pick Nurse & Huntress up and after a game or two, be the stereotypical Huntress main hitting cross maps, but Pinhead I still feel is a 50/50 if I'm going to be successful or not, even after hundreds of hours.
@Sharpefern
@Sharpefern Жыл бұрын
@@adrioumario1369 I would agree with CarKpop. I would go further than just mentioning the box spawns on the maps but where in the tile does it generally spawn. You also need to figure out what audio cues on each map are going to mess you up example being power lines on Badham. Like the box alone has a lot of his pressure. And as for his chains its more than just landing a chain in chase, its very timing focused. There are alot of places, especially in indoor maps, where chaining is going to hurt you because of your slowdown vs help you. I have seen chains land where upon returning to pinhead all three are already off.

I think sadako is actually quite hard to master since using her weaker add ons such as old journal require a bit of practice to mind game properly with it and her stronger add ons require her to be played in a completely different manner. And certain tricks such as the pallet destroy fake with the demanifest and looking at tvs to see if they are playing the tape to determine if a survivor is within 16 meters of you, require a good amount of knowledge.

I main Sadako also and I feel like a lot of players have this sentiment she's this hard to master, underrated killer, but I really don't think she is. Her power can only be used so many ways and her add ons allow for a lot of versatility that's hard to punish. I'd argue her only real playstyles are Condemned hunting, stealth and Ping-ponging between Televisions. But the thing is they're not mutually exclusive playstyles. Which imo makes her fairly simple to master in the end.

After picking up killer after about 1000 hours of survivor, my personal experience is that the killers I have the most problem with are the ones with a mechanical focus: something precise to throw or shoot, an action that repositons you in a weird way, and especially anything involving making your character move very differently. I personally found Oni to be almost incomprehensible due to this, since his power controls like a train that has gotten off the tracks. Any time I see guides recommend I change my keybindings or get used to switching my dpi, I just tap out. But I'm also an older man and never liked mechanically focused games anyway. Probably way more approachable for people that like that sort of thing and can still do it.

Theres also the fact that he doesnt have to charge around all the time, if ur in a tight loop or corner, you can hold m1 to charge up a slam the same way running around would do, only its more like a leatherface chainsaw move. I see most onis just trying to charge around most of the time when they could easily just get the button held slam. The charging around i find is best for catching people off guard or in the open or bunched in a group, but in a loop the chargeable m1 attack works best

Twins main, I think their placement was pretty accurate, if you look at different twins mains most of us play to different strengths of theirs, some people like Lynxi are very good at snipes, others are good at using victor to guide survivors towards Charlotte, and those are hard to get the hang of. I personally love using double victor alert range because survivors just don’t understand the concept of crouching, and if you put victor in a three gen you have full control of it 24/7. They have different play styles and things to learn and all of it seems pretty viable, it’s a shame people don’t like them.

@@AosorarisuUnedited a lot of perks don’t affect/apply to victor, I don’t believe whispers works on Vic. But I do think insidious activates while Charlotte is inactive, but she loses her terror radius by default without the perk while you control victor. So you can hide her but she does make some quiet noises while she’s “sleeping.” Also good survivors won’t fall for a stealth Charlotte because while she moves they can hear the metal stuff she has on her back rattling, so it can be hard to sneak up while undetectable.

Billy is definitely the hardest character in the game. You literally lose chase if you miss your power, it has such a ridiculously punishing CD for missing someone, and if you hit a wall it's PAINFULLY long. Most people will literally just M1 rather than try to use his power because you actually get punished for missing unlike most killers whos punishment for missing is just well... missing. you can tell a real die-hard hillbilly from a city boy really quickly, because a real hillbilly is scary as hell, and city boys just get looped to absolute death

Oni is a lot harder than you seem to think. For one, he plays much differently on console than PC. His flicks are limited, his hitbox is incredibly clunky, and camera angles before flicks are much more of a factor. On top of that, oni requires much more strategy in order to balance gen pressure with chase length. Choosing when to decide to continue chase on a wounded survivor, when to activate power, maintaining an awareness of other survivor locations, and how to synergize wrath power with perks (for instance infectious fright, ultimate weapon, nowhere to hide and trail of torment). There is also the threat of losing wrath, not having any blood orbs, and being stuck as an m1 killer on large maps. He's amongst the most difficult killers to master.

Seeing Billy on the hard to master feels like a surreal dream. He isn’t the hardest. It’s just that he is factually a worst killer after the nerfs. Instasaw and no cooldowns for chainsaw was a powertrip that had my vote for best killer behind Nurse. Now you can’t abuse cheese, but if you played addonless old Billy back in the day, then he isn’t too much different. Certain addons like going through pallets for 1 damage give him a new chance to shine.

I would pop Clown one tier up personally. Yes you can just throw purple bottles non stop but the best way to play him is balancing when to switch his bottles, spacing to gain the most advantage, and timing his yellow bottles. For example, there is a difference between just throwing purples all the time and forcing survivors to be backed against the wall while you're sped up and they're slowed down.

But in Lery's? Death in carnate. Maybe it's my long running history of just being different at games than others or maybe it's because I started off playing more technical killers like Nemmy, Pyramid Head, and Birb Lady, but when I finally started playing with Hag, I can just wreck survivors. Oh also, one of THE most satisfying things is completely closing a loop with Carmina's close ranger raven attack. Only surpassed by getting a snipe on a survivor that damages them. I absolutely LOVE her power. I will say, Dredge is one of the killers that truly makes you feel like a horror movie villain. You're EVERYWHERE at once.

As a Knight main (switching to demo soon) as soon as you master your ability theres not much else to it except learning if its a smart group of survivors or fresh group, if its a smart group looping is them escaping either way because as soon as they see a change in animation they bolt for it, if its a fresh group looping is a lot easier as they may not know what to do if you break a loop with a guard. Also using guards to their 100% is difficult but 100% worth it as a survivors can go from healthy to injured bleeding (DH) or to dying. Also please learn to block survivors so the guard can catch up (if in chase), and learn to throw a hit as SOON as you hear them yell or you see them get hit by the guard. Doing this is a good amount of pressure on survivors.

Trapper main here, I think Trapper isn't quite as hard and big-brained as people think. High MMR folks tend to outmindgame themselves and think a killer like this is harder and more complicated than they actually are. No, your traps don't need to be all sneaky and big brained. Obvious trap spots are obvious for reason. Just because they are obvious doesn't mean they aren't worth putting down. You should be doing both sneaky and obvious traps. No, you don't have to sacrifice your entire early game in order to get your match going. This really depends on what build you're going into the match with. It's really enough to trap the strongest loops on the map at the start, bring a strong chase build and get going. Set the rest of your traps between chases whenever you get the chance. Whenever I do this I bring the Trapper bag to make this quicker. My go-to is enduring, spirit fury, brutal strength and overcharge. I win most of my games with this build. Rare is the time I don't get at least two kills. Stop using Trapper Sack. This addon is terrible. Not being able to move your traps is debilitating, it works ONLY on basement trapper and you better hope you can actually get them there and if you do, that they'll bother with trying to save. This is an addon for meme builds. The Honing Stone isn't all that great. The only time this will be useful is if someone steps into your traps while you're busy with a chase you are confident you can win and don't want to abandon. What addons are good? Bloody Coils, Iridescent Stone are good but don't use them together. Trapper Bag is great to speed up your early game. Things that let you set traps faster are good. Fastening Tools and Bear Oil are a DEADLY combination and a frequent go-to of mine. You can set traps while chasing in a loop tile with high walls and as long as the survivor can't see you doing it, they are VERY likely to get caught if they don't leave the loop. Shoutout to fellow Trapper mains, what are your favorite builds?

I disagree with Dredge being that difficult to master. There are many things to his power, sure but all rely on the same thing, positioning. The locker teleport is to be used mostly to a destination where you know you should be. Like a gen, survivors healing, or even cutting of a survivor from a loop. When to use a teleport and where is the tricky part, but if you feed yourself with information, you know where to go. The gloaming power is to be used in 2 scenarios, to mind game or to avoid being mind gamed. For the first, you must use it when the survivor cannot see you, like in tall loops, and act accordingly. Either go back or continue. For the latter you can use it to flush out a survivor from a loop you don't want to stay, let them see your remnant and then cancel your power. You may lose distance, but a fair exchange from losing precious time. Remember, you are still a m1 killer mostly, your chase power is not the Forte, but the strategy to use the m2 button. As for the nightfall, enjoy everything at your favor, better visibility, faster teleporting and more often, and more gloaming. What you should know is to always be busy and keep injuring and hooking people. The more they suffer the more you benefit from more nightfall.

I would say "Nurse" is the hardest killer. It is the slowest killer in the game and its blink teleport doesn't work really well on maps with floors and there's a ton of them now. It involves a lot of prediction in order to surprise the survivors, to counter-loop them, to know exactly where your blinks would land. Not to mention, since you have to teleport all the time in order to do something because of your speed, survivors know where you are at all times and this puts additional presure on the killer. From my experience, with the nurse you either have your best gameplay or the worst, there's hardly a between
@Sylaise
@Sylaise Жыл бұрын
I'd have to say that these reasons are really why Nurse isn't hardest ranked. Her slow speed is because of her extremely powerful blinks and they most definitely shine in floored maps (give me Meat Plant and Midwich any day with Nurse). Nurse is meant to be akin to Billy where survivors instantly know what they're facing, the only difference being that Nurse is much more capable (easier) to get knocks. I think where people struggle the most with Nurse is that she's essentially a patience and mind game killer and there's not too many killers like that. I've seen a lot of Nurses trying to chain their blinks for a quick down when the first blink should be to close in and the second to down. Quiet honestly though, its easy enough to win against an average Nurse because they make it too obvious what they're blinking too. Don't give up!

Blight main here. Love and completely agree with most of this (ESPECIALLY Nurse and Huntress, because they fluctuate so much between easy and hard for me, so I appreciate their placings and you saying that you felt the same way), BUT Doctor and Bubba should definitely be in the super easy category, Pinhead should at best be in the doable category, and Hag should at worst be in the lots of dedication category. 1) My first five games with Doctor and Bubba were 3k/4k/4k/4k/3k and 4k/4k/4k/3k/4k, respectively, and I've been getting the same results as my MMR increases. The info you get as Doctor with Static Blast and the vault blocking with Shock Therapy are both a hardcore crutch for new players (myself included...I started with Doctor and when I started branching out it was DIFFICULT to be in an M1 killer situation without Shock Therapy). It's so easy to reliably get 3ks and 4ks with Doctor if you know how to take advantage of his power, and it's not difficult to learn how to do that. Bubba is easy simply because, in my experience, people (especially experienced players) get too excited/overconfident against him, underestimate you, and get risky, and it's so easy to take advantage of that early riskiness and just snowball from there using bambam. I've literally never once gotten worse than a 3k with Bubba. 2) Pinhead is only difficult while you are getting the chain down. Aura reading perks complete negate the need to learn about box spawns if you know the stats on how it spawns, which is a simple five-line section on his wiki page titled "Lament Configuration (Spawn Location Statistics)." I did have a few fairly bad games at the start because I didn't hit my chains the way I should. But after 6-7 1ks and 2ks, good chain aiming plus Franklins made it a literal joke to play this character. In fact, I don't play him anymore at all because I was plowing through games getting mostly 4ks and some 3ks after just a few practice games, and I realized that neither side was having a good time. I hate how easy, punishing, and straight up annoying Pinhead and his power is, as did the survivors I faced, I didn't enjoy playing him, and I actively got mad FOR the survivors having to face this character. A decent Pinhead is insanely annoying and frustrating, and that just grows more and more as the Pinhead gets better and better, to the point where he just doesn't seem fair...survivors have voiced to me (and I don't entirely disagree) that Franklins should be banned on Pinhead or lament config should no longer be considered an item, because that perk mixed with other aura reading perks/add-ons is RIDICULOUS. Jesus, I recently played a few games of Pinhead with Greasy Black Lens, Engineer's Fang, Franklins, Bitter Murmur, Floods of Rage, and Lethal Pursuer, and it was just upsetting. 4ks, 5 gens, no slowdown perks, and barely any progress on gens (I checked them after downing the last survivor while looking for hatch so I could give it to him). Whenever I played Pinhead after the first 6-7 games, I didn't have a challenge, and the survivors didn't have a chance. SUPER disagree that he is difficult to learn, let alone the hardest to learn in the entire game. Or maybe I just have a knack for the chain or not many people have realized how effectively you can hold the match hostage by using aura perks to locate the survivors and find the box spawn. 3) Hag took me a hot sec to start reliably getting 3ks or 4ks, especially because of the teleport range on traps. On some maps, your power just can't really be used efficiently at all with the playstyle you have on smaller maps, and it takes a LOT of skill and planning and experience to strategically and effectively place traps based on the map you are in that you will be able to get value from. Like Trapper, her success depends a LOT on the map unless you develop complex, intelligent methods to work around that. Lots of knowledge of the game and strategy is required to reliably do well with Hag. Side note: I don't have enough info to judge Knight as of now, but from what I've seen he's definitely going to be super difficult to master, requiring a lot of game knowledge, experience, and strategy. He's definitely super complex as far as potential goes, which is why people are starting to sort of write him off as bad (because we haven't seen his true potential), but I think the skill cap on him is limitless. I think the most difficult thing about him is mastering how to effectively use his followers in chase, and, considering the three followers have super different attributes, that's definitely going to take some time. But I think he is a super strong killer with tons of potential, and all kinds of crazy ways will be developed to trap with Assassin, zone with Jailer, and clear a path to the survivor you're chasing with Carnifex. I genuinely think he is going to be considered an S-tier killer a year or so from now, provided he isn't gutted in the meantime.s

I'm a pinhead main so I'm going to agree and disagree with your assessment. Engineers fang is fucking insane and really shouldn't be considered in the discussion due to how much it changes your power. Lethal is amazing on him yes but it's amazing on most killers. Knowing where to go at the start of the match is just as important for an oni or nurse as it is for pinhead. The skill in pinhead comes from knowing where the box will spawn, knowing how the chains spawn from possessed chains, understanding how they interact at loops, understanding how different builds and perks require different playstyles. There is so much game knowledge and macro skill required to play him effectively, along with all the other shit you've got to keep on top of. Sorry but 10 games sample size really isn't a large enough sample, especially when those matches are using engineers fang and wall hacks to negate looping

As Pinhead main, I completely agree that he is up there in difficulty to master. The strategy I have built up over time is ensuring survivors have as many things to juggle as possible, forcing them to not be able to put much time into gens. Totems+TotH builds + Engineers Fang and Original Pain ensures 2 well aimed chains can leave a survivor needing to mend, and potentially wanting to heal while also needing to satisfy the Box, and deal with the totems that taking 20+ seconds to cleanse. Organized SWFs can get around this with communication but being able to injure or Deep Wound survivors on demand essentially forces them to stay busy. In the end survivors tend to start being unable to juggle everything while satisfying the box. Obviously, you still need to be good in chase while maintaining the control of the game Another way to play him is to instead become extremely protective of the box and do whatever you can to pick it up. This involves knowing where survivors are around the map using perks like Lethal Pursuer, Discordance, BBQ Chili, or Floods of Rage when the box respawns to immediately find and pick up the box get chain hunts rolling while you oppressively chase survivors with addons like the Black Lens (which is buffed by Lethal Pursuer) and another addon of choice (I like Original Pain or Impaling Wire depending on map). I find this build a bit harder to master as maintaining awareness of survivors map wide is quite advanced, especially with few information perks, but can be more consistent as you are not relying on totems.

I like how you put Nurse and Spirit lower than most would expect, because imo they are highly overrated in terms of difficulty. However, I would put Wesker lower, because his ability is quite easy to use and his slow is an automatic chase ender.

I find Dredge to be a great way to bait survivors, with it’s ability to hide in lockers to just wait for survivors to either fall for it, or not

Out of all current killers in the game, the easiest for me to play is Freddy, especially since I used to main him back when he was the worst killer lol. The hardest for me to play currently is Oni. (I think huntress isn't that hard, she just has an unlimited skill ceiling which is why she's considered the most difficult by most. I also don't own demo, so idk how hard he is.) Since Oni released, I've struggled hard with him, no matter the perks or Add-ons I use, his power is extremely difficult for me for some reason.
