Yo, idk if you knew this, but calamity overhaul uses stolen code and can brick characters/worlds if you disable it, also it's just unbalanced in general

IDK if you would consider it a ‘add-on’ but The Stars Above changes its progression with Calamity installed. It also buffs and nerfs weapons based on the changed progression.

Worth noting that Calamity Overhaul is full of stolen assets/concepts from Minecraft's Avaritia mod (Hence why that crafting system looks/functions like that.) as well as code from other Terraria mods. I have no idea why no one on KZbin talks about it..

@Murasama1 3:03 "Ga-Sha-Do-Ku-Ro", basically Japanese youkai. It's a gigantic skeleton (10 meters or more) made up of skulls from those who died from war or starvation/famine. They will hunt prey (read: any human they come across to eat) endlessly until their anger runs out and they dissipate.

also, judging by the weapons toolbar, it's also a reference to DM Dokuro, the composer for the majority of Calamity's OSTs who eventually left the team and focused on his original songs after being harassed and rushed by impatient fans and stated to never return to making OSTs for Calamity or any Terraria mod. The "iconic sound" made when firing Gashadokuro is a bell chime consistently present in DM Dokuro's works. Hope this clears a few more details up.

These developers are all so talented and I love their work, but whatever happened to stand alone content mods? I'm really frustrated with so many new projects just being Calamity this or that. The worst part is a lot of amazing content mods from the 1.3 era aren't being worked on.

It is sad that the Metroid Mod isn't made to fit Calamity 😭it is PERFECT in its recreation of everything Metroid (that it includes, Ridley is still too big ☹), but the equipment only goes up to Moon Lord - everything is perfectly usable then, but if Calamity bosses keep ramping up damage input and output, all that gear has to be replaced by non-Metroid-related stuff 😭

How does Convergence Mod REDUX modify Thorium and Calamity to seamlessly merge them? I think it might override the recipes for the opposing mods but how does that explain the AI changes from Revengance? Edit: Im stoopid, MOD-ifiers of course they can, just tell the game that the bosses have to do this instead during gameplay.

this mod got integrated into Catalyst so it's basically deprecated

@ except they did it really badly, keeping none of the vanilla whip mechanics. Tag damage is gone, and the whips are too gimmicky, and there are like 9 whips in total. Barely any of them outclass their vanilla competitors, and post moonlord I found the whips a little weak and very gimmicky. Unofficial calamity whips adds many more options, and even though some of the code is broken you would prefer it over catalyst

I'm pretty sure the support for that mod specifically is done for a long time now, so it wouldn't fit the list anymore because of this. Personally I'd rather use the more updated version of the mod so I'm pretty happy with Catalyst 🤷
