I wish for the solo experience dungeon bosses were tuned to be 2-phased with very good DPS, 3-phased with average DPS. The tech is there for scaling HP with more fireteam members, why they haven't included that for the recent dungeons is baffling.

I fully agree. They did it for both legendary campaigns if I remember correctly, enemies were more beefy depending on if you were solo or had teammates. There's no reason Ecthar should have more health than Nezzy for a solo experience. One is a raid boss that's scaled for 6 people and the other is a dungeon boss that was made with solo flawless in mind.

I think it's because if you do that they would need to close the fire team so no joining in-progress runs.

The bugs in Duality! Any backpack was a death, too. Snipers during Caiatl would 1 shot. This one I've not soloed.

Or that bug where the Bells would kill you when travelling from the normal world into the nightmare version. (Killing you as if time had run out in the nightmare realm).

I think, overall prophecy is my favorite dungeon. Like it's probably the only dungeon I wouldn't pass up running if someone asked me to. I don't think I've ever had a legit bad experience with it. Even on my solo flawless attempts and eventual success, it wasn't a bad experience.

Duality is my favorite solo experience. Good damage phases. Caiatl has split up damage phases. I feel like you can play that dungeon anyway and build.

Chablo, the first video of yours that I remember watching was about becoming a better Destiny 2 player. I think that's sort of an evergreen set of videos because the principles don't change a lot. That being said if you ever wanted to do one on managing the chaos of some of the dungeons in sort of the same way, I think it would be well received. Thanks either way for your great videos.

due to how long boss fight is mental fatigue kicks in and its prone to mess mechanics like banking a wrong symbol , but boss room in ghost think is safer than duality and spire boss room , in ghosts there are plenty of safe spots to regain super and chill without worrying getting killed by ads or the boss ,

Ghosts only took me 4-5 tries to solo because I watched so many vids before actually doing it. Great commentary, especially with the “then & now” ratings.

Recently got my solo of ghosts using Strand Titan. Managed a 4 phase in the first boss, but the final took me 7. That fight drags on way too long. Having to have arbalest mandatory was also annoying. Maybe just a skull issue 😂

Ghost of the deep is such a cool dungeon and it is an pretty okay solo until the final boss. I died at the boss and while im confident i could get a solo flawless if I put in the attempts, I have no motivation when I think back to how draining the boss fight is. Similar to the harpy on spire.

I solo flawlessed Ghost and Duality and am getting close on my spire run. I highly recommend solar titan for ghost. Made it actually pretty easy

One thing to consider is banner of war titan - I just used it to sf Ghosts, and it made it pretty manageable, especially ecthar. I wouldn't how banner changes the other dungeons?

I agree on your list. I just didn’t like anything about Ghosts of the Deep. It’s just made to be too long. The opening encounter goes on to long, followed by a tedious underwater section. It’s definitely the hardest dungeon but for me, that doesn’t make it good. Prophecy and Shattered Throne will always be perfect dungeons.

i have to agree the forsaken sandbox was the best in crucible, and pve. all except luna’s howl and not forgotten. the worst thing to happen to d2 was pc. no more secrets and the community has split in almost irreparable ways...

Story leaks are easy to avoid. Just don't subscribe to certain YT channels and keep off Reddit and X (comment cesspools). I've never had any story spoiled. Most of the YT channels I watch that involve D2 are just PvP focused. I've never had anything show up in my Home feed with spoilers.

@@TheSwayzeTrain so that takes care of the internet and searching d2 content. now what about salgeppeto and datto that won’t shut up about how easy the game is!? i believe chablo when he says something is easy. i can relate to him because of his platform. datto or salgeppeto telling me the game is easy, i try it and can’t recreate their conditions or the exact same weapons they use, i use and have a totally different experience tells me all i need to know. the pc port has been awful for d2...

Chablo, great video. Love the insight. You mentioned in the beginning that the list is from a solo perspective, not from a fireteam persepctive. If it fits in your content schedule, I'd be very interested to know what you think of the dungeons from duo and full fireteam perspectives. Personally, I have a blast with most dungeons in a 2 stack. It's my favorite content in the entire game because it provides the most consistent "well-oiled machine" feeling.

Thanks for the support. These days i rarely play duo so. To me the duo is very different. Imagine a duo GOTD is completely different to a solo. That one extra person speeds the whole thing up and means less DPS phases. I think duo is cool but I wouldn't class that much different from a fire team of 3. It depends on your social circle in D2. You may have that 1 friend you would prefer play with rather than 2 others. I have been in that situation before.

There wasnt a dungeon on Europa, Neptune, Savathun Throne World (Spire of the Watcher is on Mars), EDZ. Where next dungeon will be?

I did Ghosts of the Deep with a team for the first time a couple weeks and I can not imagine trying to do that thing solo. Even if I think I COULD do it (which I don't), I feel like it would take me 3 hours.

Themeatcially I feel as though the dungeons are becoming less impressive and more formulaic as time goes on. Shattered Throne and Prophecy felt like proper worlds/secrets. Even after completion it felt like there was more in the dungeon to see and explore. Heresy was middle of the road but I still rather like it. Duality did look unique but it feels very small and linear. Grasp felt recycled obviously because they were just able to use all tbe EDZ assets that we had seen since launch. And Spire was completely and absolutely uninspired. It felt like a box ticking exercise from the devs because rhey needed dungeons to sell the pass. They didnt put any effort into it. It was like something I would expect to see in a seasonal activity.

I think you sum it up pretty well, that's right the dungeon should have a sense of scale both prophecy and throne did achieve that. Pit was themed well but only 1 boss>? Tick box exercise for sure. I will give them props for GOTD having Oryx apart of the battlefield that was truly something.

Id say now since duality was released Bungie punishes the player for lack of time management. Imo duality is the second hardest dungeon in the game because of time management. Thx chablo for making a tier list that some can relate to props to you brother.

Great list although one thing you might have overlooked with spire on release was the solo operative artifafact mod giving a passive 15% damage increase that could stack with radiant. obviously it didnt stack with a bait and switch linear but it would still apply to witherhoard if you were using it. I really hate that dungeon, the biggest run killer is the boredom of getting to the final boss.

Yh GOA was particle which helped the dungeon and spire was solo operator you're right. The season they launched they were slightly easier. We then run each dungeon the season after and they are just worse to play. Well of radiance was also bugged with persys, radiant was meant to stack with solo mod I suppose. Spire is a bad dungeon overall apart from persys, that fight has nice flow.

Thanks for your insight as always! -100% agree that Season of Arrivals in terms of released content was easily one of the best seasons in the history of the game. - I really appreciate that you acknowledge that Grand Overture was a Strat you discovered for spire. I see many raid content creators coming to light about its utility and I’m sure we have you to thank for that. - generally I think the common issue is that over time we learn how to optimize the content for faster clears. I’m wondering how you think they should design the mechanics and DPS check so that it always keeps a B and up level of difficulty for players ( I know this isn’t likely to happen as the company wants to keep the game accessible, but just wondering if you had any suggestions there).

Thanks for all your support appreciate it. Dungeon design needs to alter. DPS checks could change in such a way that you have to multi task an unshielded boss with the mechanics. A boss that chases you and it can take environmental damage plus stun damage from the guardian. Sort of reverse the role of us guardians trapping a boss in a room and them taking damage like im WOTM but the role is reversed. I guess my point is that the fight starts right away having to juggle damage plus mechanics. The room would have to be designed in such a way to compliment this.

@@usherd369 siege engine intial emcounter. You had to DPS and mechanics i suppose at the very start. Granted it wasn't actual dps it was more shooting parts off the machine. But this had a unique dynamic. Thanks again 👍👍

Do you remember the Fallen Taken and Hive mods . That made soloing a lot easier . Gutted they removed them . Took me ages to get . Salty🧂

I disagree with giving Prophecy so much praise, if the motes were instantly picked up when dropped by someone you kill at point blank range then I could vibe with it, but having to actively look for them after I've killed something from 0.1m away kills the flow of the dungeon entirely for me seeing as that is literally the only mechanic

The motes need a magnetism element to stop the annoying part of that. I have rated prophecy so highly due to the intense solo flawless race that particular weekend in 2019, was still the best dungeon experience for me personally week 1.

i think master GOTD is the hardest dungeons in the game cuz of the first boss it took me 8 phases to kill him and the final boss 6 phases

In terms of fun and actually wanting to do a solo flawless clear, Spire and Ghosts are last, Ghosts being the worst. For me, they are not much fun, Spire was too easy, with the boss being too stressful, and Ghosts is just too long and drawn out, with the boss fight having just too many mechanics, extending the dungeon play time even more. Not complicated, just long, and the water part is boring, only cool first time through.
